Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slide is too steep Fun and sturdy for climbing, but as other reviewers noted, the slide is too steep (too short for the height), so the landing tends to be quite rough. We've put some cushions at the bottom but landing on your face is not nice, even if it's on a soft surface.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Welcome Relief We use this product while I am at home working and my son loves to eat in the top, or lounge under while reading or playing with his toys. However, it is a bit difficult to clean if food gets stuck down in the crevices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm all about this climber! This is an awesome toy - and much taller than it appears. It was a real challenge for my toddlers but also safe and good for the footing (no slipping). Thanks Step 2, you're the best!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Climber for Young Kids My kids love this climber. The recommended age for this product is 2-6 years old (I have three that fit into this age range at 2, 4, and 6-years-old).The structure is easy enough to maneuver for even my youngest without any hesitation. The rock climbing walls are easy to climb up and have great hand and foot supports. The bonus is that these walls also offer a simple way to climb down as well.Once at the top, there is a platform that allows kids to get a 360 degree view of their environment. The guard rails are at the perfect height to allow stability and that added sense of protection. These handles/rails are great even for little hands to grasp. The slide is great fun as well, giving the kids that extra "thrill" after they've accomplished scaling to the top of the climber. It goes pretty quick and you definitely hear a few squeals of excitement as each child takes a turn going down it.Underneath the climber are three benches, perfect for breaks or hanging out with friends. My kids loved sitting on them and talking to one another. The middle of the climber also makes for a great spot to have a "fort" or a "secret hiding spot". It's big enough underneath to have a few kids sitting down, comfortably playing. A sand pit would go perfect in this spot!Overall, this is a great outdoor product for children. The quality is outstanding and it is incredibly sturdy. The only suggestion I would have is that a 6-year-old may be a little too big to use this product. I would change the suggested age use to 2-5 yeras old.

I recently purchased the cable top maintain climber. The slide is steep and then abruptly horizontal. The kids hit their bottoms or their feet pretty hard. Is there a recall or replacement slide available? Has anyone found a good fix for this problem?
Asked by: Ken R.
Everyone has the same complaint, including myself. Its not about the depth, its about the end that goes flat that makes their butt hit hard when it should smooth down to the floor.

Can this be taken apart, rebuilt, and still be as sturdy?

Asked by: Mama333
The Castle Top Mountain Climber™ may be taken apart and rebuilt with care not to enlarge the holes created from the screws.

Are there any solutions to the slide issue? It is so steep that it makes for a rough ride and an uncomfortable landing.

Do the benches at the bottom have to be assembled with it, or can we remove that?
Asked by: Shelby B.
I didn't assemble the climber so I'm not sure if you can do without them. But I do think they provide some additional support to the structure. Our experience is that the kids like to sit on them and climb on them.

What is recommended for a 1 year old?
Asked by: Shelby B.
This climber is great for 2.5 to even 6 or 7. Our grandkids love it. It's much too big for kids younger than that, in this grandmother's view.

how many kids can play on this at once?
Asked by: Jhasta T.
2 or 3 kids can at one time depending on age and size,l. The bigger the kids the fewer who can play safely at the same time. 2 toddlers about the same size works well.
