I want to get the board to support the mattress! Can it be less then 1.25"?
    Asked by: Jennifer M.
    This twin bed requires a 38" x 74 1/2" x 1 1/2 to 4" support board.
    Answered by: Tena C.

I know the description says a support board is needed for this bed. Is there any type of support with the bed - rails across where the mattress goes? Also, what are the dimensions from the base (where the mattress lays) to the top of the pink sides? Thank you!
    Asked by: Randy M.
There are two types of support rails that are included with the Loft & Storage Bed. There are two wood rails that go on each end of the bed. Also, the two plastic rails go in the middle in between each side of the ladder. It is 20" in depth from base to sides.

How durable/practical is this bed if my daughter still likes to cuddle with me before bed? Also, what is the oldest age your children have been interested in this bed? She is 4.5 and really wants it, but I want her to enjoy it for at least the next 3 to 3.5 years. (until she is 8 maybe?)
    Asked by: Lindsey L.
My daughter is a cuddler too and its not practical if you still want to do that. It only holds 300lbs and the only thing holding up the mattress is 2 pieces of wood and 2 pieces of plastic. She's 3 and she loves it but I don't think she's going to want it for another 4 years.

how long do you think till the doors will be manufactured for this bed? will this happen before the holidays or how long? im super excited to get this bed
    Asked by: Lindsey L.
I have 8 kids and I have the original bed with the doors not having them prevents me from buying anymore are they going to have the doors on the new ones? It looks real sloppy with no doors but is great to put bins under and be able to hide with them

Referring to the earlier question and this one, if I use a standard 39x75 twin mattress, can you clarify whether there is 1 1/4 inches between the mattress and the left/right sides of the bed, the head/foot of the bed, or all sides of the bed? Thank you.
    Asked by: Eric L.
The inside dimensions of the bed are 38.5” side to side and 77” head to foot board.
    Answered by: Tena C.
    Date published: 2018-03-27

The beds' dimensions are listed at 44 x 85 while standard Twin Size mattress is 48 x 75. How does that work? Isn't it a bit too wide for the mattress? I am aware that some sort of support board needs to be purchased and that takes another 40 dollars or so. It does not seem very budget friendly :( Why was it made so much wider?
    Asked by: Eric L.
This loft bed fits a 39" x 75" standard twin mattress. The dimensions of this kids bed are measured from the outermost parts. Because of the loft style, a support board is required.

Once the mattress is in is there extra space around the bed?
    Asked by: Holly W.
Yes, we just purchased this. The bed is good quality and my daughter is in love with it. However, there is extra space between the mattress and sides which is a pain. Also, the pictured showed the bottom of the bed to be solid straight line across the bottom and instead it's some strange design

Can you play under the bed?

We recommend that the space under this kid bed be used for storage.

When a twin size mattress is placed, how much of a side rail is there at the point where the ladder is positioned, also on the actual side rails. Is there an option to purchase stairs rather than ladder on one side as well?
    Asked by: Holly W.
With a standard size twin mattress, there is 12 inches from the mattress to the top side of the bed (the pink area). There is six inches from the mattress to the top of the ladder.
