Customer ReviewsRated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from My kids LOVE this workshop! Thank you to Step2 for letting me test this items as part of the Step2 toy tester program! My boys have loved playing with the Just Like Home Workshop! It was extremely easy to put together, even my kids wanted to help they were so excited to see it all come together. It is beyond durable, they are tough little boys who play all day long with it. I love how many features it has, really aiding into bringing out their imagination - allowing for hours of play. Their favorite parts are the tools and faux wood pieces. Putting different pieces together and building whatever comes to mind! It's even fun to make pretend blue prints to really encourage creativity!Date published: 2016-08-24Rated 5 out of 5 by TripMom from Hours of Fun and Entertainment! Thank you to Step2 for letting me test this item as part of the Step2 toy tester program. My kids love this toy and have played non stop with it for 4 days. It was easy to put together and is very sturdy, I don't have to worry about it tipping over as the kids play. It has many features to keep multiple children happy. My daughters love it just as much as my son. My kids love that they can actually build things with the different pieces, and I love that it promotes creativity. They love the tools that come with it too, especially the drill, hammer and and drill press. I love that even though there are lots of features the table doesn't take up too much space and all 3 kids can easily play together with it at the same time.I also like that it comes with storage and containers for the tools and pieces to help keep it tidy and organized. This is truly a great toy and I would recommend it to everyone.Date published: 2016-08-28Rated 5 out of 5 by MomOf1AndTwins from Hours of entertainment My 2 year old got this as a Christmas gift and loves it. He plays with it everyday. It is great for fine motor and allows him to build things with the play wood and screws that came with it.Date published: 2017-02-13Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Not impressed My twin grandsons are two. They do love the tools but in my opinion there should be somewhere on the bench where they can actually screw or drill in the bolts or use the hammer .Date published: 2016-12-29Rated 5 out of 5 by eMTees Nashville from A WONDERFUL Workshop for Boys and Girls Alike! Thank you to Step2 for allowing our family to test this items as part of the Step2 toy tester program! When we received this toy in the box, I was pleased with how lightweight it was in the box but concerned that the quality might not be there. I was wrong! My husband was extremely happy with how simple it was to assemble. He is an engineer, a real stickler on putting things together and he couldn't complain about one thing. This was a breath of fresh air compared to many toys we've purchased in the past.My son was so excited he kept asking my husband "Are you done yet? Are you done yet?!" He really wanted to have a workshop "like dad's".When he finally got to play with it, he loved all of it!- He loves assembling the faux wood pieces using the nuts and bolts provided along with the hand drill that allows for tightening AND loosening! Not to mention interchangeable parts from a flathead attachment to a drill bit. (I thought these attention to detail was pretty great!)- Anything with moving parts definitely has his attention. The drill press, to the hand saw, circular saw and wrench! As a mom, I appreciate that every piece has it's place to make clean up easy and fast!Date published: 2016-08-30Rated 5 out of 5 by ESSESS from Wonderful for hours of fun! Thank you to Step2 for letting our family test this item as part of the Step2 toy tester program!I was shocked with the extremely large box arrived on my doorstep because I couldn't quite figure out how I was going to get it inside before my husband arrived home. I was pleasantly surprised when I lifted it with very little effort. My husband and Chief Assembler was also a little shocked when he saw the box because he was expecting to spend the greater part of the day assembling the pieces. With a cordless power tool and help from our 3 year old, he was able to put it together in about 20 minutes. My son absolutely loves it! He is beyond excited to play with his tools and build "just like Daddy!" The tools provided have a great attention to detail, which is a great feature! While I believe the construction seems durable and strong, I wish there was some other alternative to the foam material the "wood" was made from. The first thing my son did was bite the "wood" and while it didn't come apart, there are clear teeth marks left behind. I tried it myself on a scrap piece to see if I could actually break it and I couldn't, so that does make me feel better. All in all, it is a great toy and provides tons of fun!Date published: 2016-09-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Fitmom Melissa from Love the Real Workshop Play Thank you to Step2 for letting me test this item as part of the Step2 toy tester program. The box arrived and was very large, but light. Surprisingly it was relatively easy to assemble by myself, without my husbands help. Took me about an hour, but that is mainly because my kids wanted to help me. And it was very sturdy after assembly, which pleased me.My boys instantly went to 'work' and they play with it day after day since we received it. I love watching their imagination come alive with washing their hands, using the tools, building. One of my favorite features is the foam wood pieces. This is wonderful addition to a workshop. The kids can build and invent new projects, pretend to cut the pieces with the table saw, etc. Very pleased with that.My boys have already tested the durability of the toy. They push it around, sit on it, bang on it with all the tools and it looks no worse for the wear. Granted it's only been a week, but the plastic is high quality compared to other toys we've had in the past.Step 2, this was a great addition to your product line and for boys who want to be just like dad like mine do, it's perfect to allow their imagination run wild. This toy will be well loved in our house!Date published: 2016-09-02Rated 4 out of 5 by Mama Lisa from So much fun! Great for little carpenters in training! Thank you to Step2 for letting me test this item as part of the Step2 toy tester program. My family had a lot of fun testing this toy! Below is my pro and con lists.Cons:- Set up is not fun! It probably took over two hours, but it's hard to know for certain since we were interrupted a few times with having to care for our children. The parts are not predrilled so there is a lot of push work involved to get the screws through. The directions are also a little hard to follow at parts, being all pictures with no words.- The "wood" pieces that you build your creations with are actually just foam. I was a little bit worried about how they would hold up but so far, they are hanging in there. Why it is a con for my list; I have a 1 year old who loves putting them in his mouth and causes teeth marks!- There is no idea manual for building things. I think that this would have been a great addition for children to help them get started. My oldest is 3 so the building part is a little bit beyond her. However, I look forward to seeing her play in a year or two when she will have a better idea of what she is doing.Pros:- There are lots of tools! Some tools light up or make sounds which makes them very realistic. It definitely makes for hours of fun!- I love all of the storage. There are many pieces but quite a few buckets and jars to help keep everything organized. Now, if only there was a way to keep the baby from dumping the buckets!- The bench is big! This could be a con, depending on space, but it makes it roomy enough for 2 or more children to play together.Overall, we absolutely love this toy! My 1 year old son and 3 year old daughter want to play with it all of the time and I think that they will still love it and even appreciate it more as they grow older.Date published: 2016-09-05
