Customer ReviewsRated 5 out of 5 by rdemille from Cute and Sturdy Kitchen Thank you to Step2 for letting me test this item as part of the Step2 toy tester program. We recently moved and had to leave behind our old plastic Step2 kitchen because it was so bulky. My 3 year old daughter was begging for a kitchen and she was so excited when this kitchen arrived! It's darling! The pink color goes so well with her room and I LOVE how compact it is! It fits perfectly in a corner in her room and does not take up a lot of space. It also has LOTS of storage so we are able to store a lot of our play food and pans in the kitchen instead of storing them separately. I love that it's wooden and it seems very sturdy. It looks unique and sparks a lot of imagination from my kids. The only con is that it was quite the process to put together, I timed it and it took exactly 2 hours. That was with my husband putting it together, if it had been me, it would have been a lot longer. We also were missing instructions, but that was an easy fix since they have them online. Would knowing this before hand make me not want to buy it? No way! The hours of fun that my kids get from it make it worth it. Every day my daughter proudly says, "My daddy made my kitchen for me". That makes my husband's sore knees totally worth it!Date published: 2017-12-19Rated 5 out of 5 by bkcallison from Perfect for Imaginative Play! Thank you to Step2 for letting me test this item as part of the Step2 toy tester program. When we received the box with just the panels I chuckled to myself because my husband was going to have fun putting this together by himself. About an hour later, he was finished - without much difficulty. That’s also with two kids trying to figure out what was happening. I’d call that a win. My kids played with the kitchen immediately and only ever stop when instructed to. My son is 3yo, and my daughter is 18mo. They love playing together and making me “meals.” This kitchen may be on the smaller side, but it contains hours of daily play. The hooks can hold plastic accessories as well as metal toy pots and pans. My kids hang whatever they can on them. All of the details are so cute, down to the burners. The free cubby space under the oven and the blank slate appliances allow for free play and storage. The shelf above the microwave is perfect for displaying their toys or frames. We put some Christmas decorations on ours. Before receiving the kitchen, I made sure to check what accessories came with it and was a little disappointed that it was just the spatula and spoon. I made sure to get those in the photo. I bought some other kitchen supplies so they could have a little more to play with. The kitchen is light enough once it’s put together to move from room to room, if necessary. We had move to it because of guests and I moved it by myself without issue. The size is great for any square footage. We live in a 900sq ft apartment and had room for it in our kitchen, living room, and girl’s room. I would say it’s the perfect kitchen for no more than two kids, unless you have a table and chairs for kids or the play laundry unit. It would also be a perfect addition to the grandparents’ house.Date published: 2017-12-23Rated 5 out of 5 by AriasMom from Modern Kitchen for the Modern Kid We received the kitchen and couldn't wait to surprise our daughter Christmas morning with it. My husband and I set out Christmas Eve to put it together. After we unpacked it from the shipping box the first thing we did was sort all the pieces by the numbers. My husband and I were unsure of how sturdy the kitchen was, he was really worried the pegs were going to fall out, but nope! Everything fit together perfectly! As much as we wanted the kitchen to be a two person job, it's definitely a one person job with the second person more of being there for support at certain points in the beginning. Overall putting it together was super simple, just really time consuming. We ran into one small snag with the instructions. The pictures had the holes a different direction for two parts, but the predrilled holes didn't match the picture. We went with the predrilled holes and it went together perfectly in the later steps. The kitchen itself is definitely amazing. Nothing bad to say about it. It does take quite awhile to put together even with two people. It took us just under 2 hours. It isn't hard in any way, but just a lot of little steps that take time. When our daughter saw the kitchen she was so beyond excited. She instantly went to it and played. Sometimes you have to worry if a product is going to fall apart or have issues when you have a rough 3 year old playing with it, but that isn't even an issue with this Step 2 kitchen product. We've already moved it around a few times and no issues there whatsoever. Our daughter has added kitchen supplies to it while playing and it is definitely holding up very well. Overall an amazing product for such a great value!! We are expecting another little girl soon and totally anticipate this kitchen being able to be used for both our girls (plus on amazing playdates at our home.) So excited. Oh and we absolutely love the color! Thank you to Step2 for letting me test this item as part of the Step2 toy tester program.Date published: 2017-12-25
