Customer ReviewsRated 5 out of 5 by Nanna to 2 from We bought the climber for our grandson We researched many items and choose the woodland climber. It looked the most realistic and fun for our grandson, who loves to climb. He was climbing all over it from the moment he saw it. He's 15 months old, but that doesn't stop him. He can maneuver the slide on his own but needs our help getting up the ladder and the rock wall. We don't mind helping him up at all and love watching him play. Soon there will be two little boys all over this toy. We are quite pleased with our purchase. It's exactly what we expected and plan to purchase additional items in the near future.Date published: 2008-05-23Rated 4 out of 5 by Momof2 from Great climber! This product has worked perfectly for my 18 month and 2 1/2 year old! They love it! They are climbing all over it constantly and they love to play underneath in the little area. It is great quality and very easy to clean after a rain. It is also light enough that I can move it if I want to!. The only thing that made me not rate it 5 stars is the platform is not as strong as I would expect. It is already bowing a little in the center and we have only had it one week. I wanted this to last then for serveral years but I guess I will have to see if it does.Date published: 2018-04-05Rated 4 out of 5 by Moonpie2008 from Great climber for small spaces We have a very small backyard (our lawn is about 15' x 20' so a larger playset is not possible for us. This works out great! It was very easy to put together with just a screw driver. It's a good match for kids 1.5 years to probably 5 years. We have a woodland cottage playhouse by Step2 in the same color and material and it's been in our back yard for 2 years and still looks immaculate. That's 2 years of summers & winters with temperatures ranging from 35-110 degrees on our back patio. This product is sturdy, won't fade and is made in the US.Date published: 2008-02-10Rated 5 out of 5 by Mother of boys from My boys loved it for years We have had this climber in our backyard for more than 5 years, and it is just as sturdy today as it was when we first installed it. It doesn't wobble at all, and every part is intact, despite some very hard use. My children have loved it and used it for all kinds of imaginative play over the years. Now that my youngest is 5, we are finally removing it from our yard -- but it is still in such excellent condition that we are giving it to a little boy in the neighborhood and we're confident that he'll still be playing on it 5 years from now, too!Date published: 2009-09-20Rated 5 out of 5 by momof4kids from Great climber for ages 2-5!! We purchased this product in 2004 when my now 6 year old daughter turned 2. It has held up remarkably well considering it has always been in our backyard in direct sunlight. The color is very neutral, which was a major plus for me, and has stayed the same over all the years of weathering outdoors. Although our 6 year old has now outgrown this climber, our 2 year old twins are now enjoying it very much! We frequently have high winds and we've never had a problem with it moving around. It's very sturdy and I love the open play area underneath to store some of our outside toys in (keeps them out of the weather and from blowing away). I would say that this climber will still be around long after all of our children outgrow it! I highly recommend this product!Date published: 2009-02-24Rated 5 out of 5 by Rich from So far so good! My wife and I assembled this two weeks ago. Assembly was no problem. Our grandkids visited for four days and played on it a lot! It's safe and sturdy. We can move it around to mow. We have six grandchildren ages 2 to 6. They will all get a chance to play on it this summer.Date published: 2018-06-06Rated 4 out of 5 by GiselesDvsMom from My 3 year old daughter loves it! I'm not very patient when it comes to assembling things together, but I am proud to say I did it myself! I used the wall for support to push the pieces together. The slide and steps took some time and struggling ,though! Overall, I'm happy with the climber and my daughter loves it! I do agree that the floor of the climber seems to bend slightly when my daughter occasionally "jumps" on it, but it's still pretty sturdy. Looking forward to purchasing more Step2 products in the future!Date published: 2011-07-08Rated 5 out of 5 by Lonestar loonies from Best purchase I've ever made I purchased this for my daughters 2nd birthday and she absolutely loves it. She spends hours playing on it whether it be sliding or sitting on it with her toys playing like its a club house. She wakes up in the morning and immediately goes to climb on it. There are days she will sit on this all day watching cartoons, playing on it or even eating a snack or two...small enough for in the house but large enough for endless hours of play time...best gift we could of ever bought herDate published: 2016-07-09Rated 4 out of 5 by Devin's Mom from great climber-smaller than expected [...] I ordered through Step 2 [...] I put it together in 15 minutes. There are only 4 screws to attach it all-leaving room for pieces to have some "play." I do not really like that, but for now its ok. I can always add some more from Home Depot later. My son (18 mo) plays on it from the first thing in the am til dark. We live in Las Vegas so the weather is still nice now. My only issue is-its a lot smaller than the cube climbers-being a rectangle platform instead of square.Date published: 2008-11-16Rated 5 out of 5 by dede from GREAT PRODUCT!!!! we just purchased this climber for our 17 month old and he loves it.his favorite parts seem to be climbing the stairs and turning the steering wheel, He can play on it for hours with supervision of course.I think that the climbing wall is a great asset for when my son gets older. Right now he just uses the stairs with help. I think this climber is something he can grow with.my only CON is if you say it has a sand box then it should have a bottom as well as a cover.Date published: 2010-05-29Rated 5 out of 5 by Whitney from AMAZING!!! I have a 2 year old that is very large (3ft tall and 50lbs) and I was worried it wouldn't be large enough.. I was wrong. This toy has been great. [...] it is currently constructed in my dining room in front of the french doors so I can get it out of the house, but I can't get him off it anyway. He loves having, what I currently call "the man fort" haha, he has a bunch of toys in the loft and keeps screaming "blast off" and going down the slide. I LOVE THIS TOYDate published: 2010-02-18Rated 5 out of 5 by HOODS from Great Indoor Fun! We live in a very cold climate and found ourselves looking for something we could use indoors to simulate outdoor play. This climber/ slide combo is perfect. It’s been fun for our two year old to climb over and over again. It does shake a bit, but is still sturdy and not going anywhere. We opted not to put sand inside the panels so we could easily move it around. We’ve had it for a few weeks now and its remains a favorite in the playroom. Highly recommend!Date published: 2018-01-15Rated 4 out of 5 by Kim @ Chubby Cheeks Thinks from The Kids Love It! The Step2 Naturally Playful Woodland Climber is perfect! Seriously! My kids are 2 and 3 and love it and so do their friends! They play with it for hours on end and always find new play ideas for it. The only problem that I had was that there were no predrilled holes so make sure you have a power drill on hand. :) Other then that, perfection as usual!*I received this product in exchange for an honest review as a part of the Step2 Test Drive Mom Program*Date published: 2012-03-22Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great Fort or Pirate Ship for Toddlers This climber/slide makes a fantastic imaginary fort or Pirate Ship!We keep this in the backyard (have had for 2 years now) and our 3 year old still goes crazy over it. The wheel allows them to be at the helm of the ship, steering it through rough seas. Friends can "walk the plank" by sliding down the slide and we added a blue industrial floor mat below the slide cut into a puddle shape to up the watery feel.It also makes a great fort and we have even put a sheet on top of it before for that more closed in feeling. The slide is great. The climbing wall is fun when the kids get a little older and the steps are very sturdy. My only complaints are-the little crevices get filled with leaves from it having an open design and its hard to get them out.-the slide and stairs are very hard to pop in and out during assembly/taking it apart for cleaningDate published: 2012-03-19Rated 1 out of 5 by backyard kids from bored in 3 minutes. well, other reviewer must has simple children. ours were bored in 3 minutes....its awefully small. check the measurements and map it out and remember 3-4" of each side is plastic so the interior is really small..our 2 year old and 1 year old cannot sit on platform together. just make sure you know how small the useable space is before you buy it.Date published: 2009-03-24Rated 5 out of 5 by Andi D from Great product that lasts! We bought our Step 2 climber for our daughter's 1st birthday 5 years ago and it's still going strong! We have 3 kids now and all have played on this toy (and their friends too). We've moved 3 years ago and even disassembled/reassembled the climber and it's still just as sturdy as when we originally bought it. The colors are just as vibrant as when we bought it too. I would highly recommend this product! Great job, Step 2!Date published: 2010-03-22Rated 5 out of 5 by Cams mommy from Great toy for entire family I was overwhelmed by the size of the box, but also by how much my entire family uses the climber, everyone from my 2 year old son to his 60 year old grandma have climbed in and played. Hide and seek is our favorite game as a blanket over the top keeps us hidden from our personal "monster" aka daddy. My son loves the climber as do I. If you have a large play room as I do it fits nicely as an inside toy. Awsome productDate published: 2007-11-27Rated 4 out of 5 by Summer from Very Sturdy and Well Built This was super easy to assemble and is very sturdy and well made. My little girl is only 14 months and she does not show much interest now as she cannot climb on it by herself and can't figure out the slide yet. Step 2 recommends it for children 2 years and up and I think this is a good recommendation. I think my daughter will enjoy it much more after she gets a little older. But I am satisfied with the product.Date published: 2008-01-09Rated 5 out of 5 by Real Mom Reviews from HOA Compliant! It is very hard to have any 'toy' outside in our development because our HOA is very strict when it comes to colors and most kid outside toys are colorful to attract young kids. This climber is both attractive to young kids and HOA compliant with it's natural colors! My kids are so excited to finally have a toy outside!-Disclaimer- I was given this climber free of charge as part of Step2's Test Drive Mom Program!Date published: 2012-05-13Rated 5 out of 5 by Mom the watchful from excellent! I bought this for my 14month old son, who was intimidated at first, but now loves it. I get nervous about him going head-first down the slide and there are many openings for him to fall through. It takes a lot of very close and active supervision. Other reviewers bought this for their 1year olds, so I did too, but it is definitely for older children. I wish I had waited until he was 2 before I bought this.Date published: 2007-09-09Rated 5 out of 5 by Army_Wife from Love It! I just bought this today for my 3 1/2 year old and my 1 1/2 year old as a christmas present. I cant wait to give it to them. We have So many step 2 Items (kitchen, play house, toy boxes, table and chairs) it all matches. We had a small climber and slide but they both have outgrown it. So they are going to be Excited Christmas Morning! Thank You For Providing safe, sturdy, and afforable Items Step 2!Date published: 2008-11-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Dylan's Mom from Beautiful with room to grow I bought this for my 1 year old with the notion that he would grow into it. I think its fantastic to help him work on his gross motor skills and it gives him a place to be on his own ( whether UNDER or on TOP of the structure)Assembly was super simple. My husband had it together in 15 mins. It's light enough to drag to a new location and it LOOKS beautiful. Nice natural colors and not an eye soar!Date published: 2009-09-29Rated 5 out of 5 by Granma from Great for three year old grandson! Very easy to assemble and move around (best with two people.) Fun, sturdy, and good for developing climbing skills.Date published: 2018-07-10Rated 5 out of 5 by Jane from Kids love it My kids are 4 and 1-1/2, and they have climbed all over this thing, in ways I could never imagine. The footprint is small enough so that we have it "installed" on our lanai for shade and bug-resistance, but big enough and interesting enough for both kids to play on it together. And speaking of installation - seriously - we assembled the whole thing in less than 15 minutes. It was amazing.Date published: 2009-12-29Rated 5 out of 5 by UPSGUY from Just Bought 3/9/09 Wife sent me to[...] to buy a gym/slide combo our price range was 150.00 what u get for that they outgrow tooo quick, I begged her to let me spend [$], So glad I did. My 17 month old could assemble this just pop together put in for screws done.Very sturdy we use it inside in our playroom but would be perfect outside as well. Very sturdy he just loves it so does his 3 year old cousin! ENJOYDate published: 2009-03-09Rated 5 out of 5 by ANoonan from Step2 always top quality I've always been a lover of Step2 products. This product is again not a disappointment. I'm still waiting for a product purchased from them that I'm not happy with. My son loves the little steering wheels and this does not take up much yard space. I have a large yard but for someone with a smaller yard and can't put a swing set but wants a slide this is perfect. I'm very happy with this.Date published: 2017-04-24Rated 5 out of 5 by Marg from Great fun for home daycares/parents I am so happy to have our new Step 2 Woodland Climber as part of our playground in my back yard. The kiddies just love it! It has two steering wheels and two rockwalls with different heights. The blue slide just adds some extra fun. Even though the climber is for my older toddlers and preschoolers, I do have a lovely Step 2 climber for the younger ones! They are such a nice match!Date published: 2017-09-24Rated 4 out of 5 by Mom of 6 from Naturally Playful Woodland Climber So far the kids like it. Easy to put together. The platform has alot of "flex" when the children are walking on it. I was surprised to see the platform bowing when my 2 yr old was walking on it at he is only 25 pounds. For a product rated 2 yrs & up I did not expect that much "give" from the minimum size user.Over all, so far we are happy but we only just put it up last night.Date published: 2012-03-14Rated 5 out of 5 by Todd N Terri from Great product! My wife and I got this for our daughters 2nd birthday. She loves it, and it is holding up well so that our twins who are going to turn 1 this summer should get much use out of it as well. I put sand in the bottom and it is working out fine, the sand really helps to stablize the toy and keeps it from moving around the yard in the storms and wind we get here in OKlahoma.Date published: 2007-05-31Rated 5 out of 5 by GrandMaMa from Backyard fun at GrandMaMa's! Our grandchildren enjoy playing castle and pirate on this toy. My husband had NO trouble assembling it quickly. It blends into our backyard beautifully and does not detract from the flowers and river setting, so we don't mind seeing it when our grandchildren aren't visiting. The children are safe and happy when they play, and this gives us FUN outdoor time together!Date published: 2009-02-24
