Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with our purchase!!!!!! We have two little boys 3 1/2 years old & 18 months! They are both very active and love playing outside! We do not have a very large backyard so the standard swing set would not fit, we were very excited to find something different and not something everyone else has! My 3 1/2 year old LOVES it! Its still a little hard for my 18month old to use the rock climbing wall but he still has fun in the "cave" underneath! The assembly was a little difficult! My husband and his friend put it together.. start to finish 3 1/2 hours! but it was well worth it!! My boys love it and it has already had many many hours of fun on it!! I DEFINITELY recommond this!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok, nothing great I did many months of research upon buying this climber. I already have the step 2 timberlast swingset, and love it, but my kids were constantly climbing in a lilac bush in our backyard, so I thought that this climber would be good for them. We set it up, it took 3 hours, but overall it was not difficult. My kids 3 and 6 however played with it only a few times and quickly lost interest, infact a few minutes later they were back to climbing in the tree. So, we took it apart and immediatley took it back to the store. Needless to say I was very disappointed after hearing all the great reviews, it just seems like after a few days kids would get bored with it, mine did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skyward Summit Very cool design! This is such a wonderful switch from having the usual climbers and swing sets. My son could not wait to play on this. He is 6 and it is a wonderful challenging rock climbing wall for him. He loves the "secret hideout" in the center and putting the flag on top after climbing all the way up is the icing on the cake! The only real issue I had was a little trouble with the instructions. They did not seem to be as explanatory as needed so I had to go back and redo a couple of things to make sure the parts went together correctly, especially when it came to the very top assembly. But over all the assembly went well, having another adult to help is recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Glad We Bought This toy is wonderful! We have almost 3 year old twins and while they are a bit young to crawl by themselves all over the toy, they love hiding in the lower section and hanging out on the middle section. They also love practicing their climbing and have been doing surprisingly well with the foot and hand holds. This climbing structure will definitely get a lot of use over the years. My only complaint about it is that the rope pieces were a pain to install. My husband put the rest of the toy together with no problems/complaints, but trying to place the rope climbers and screw them in place was a major time consumer. That is the only reason why I gave four stars instead of five.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Definitely pleased with it! This is a great product, my son loves it. Only thing I wasn't erythromycin pleased about was how poorly it was made in certain areas. For example, we had to drill through 75% of the holes because there was still plastic in them and we couldn't get the screws through. We also had to make our own screws because the ones that came with it were not catching onto the threads properly. Also the welding that was done on the bottom bars was done so poorly and crooked that the screws where going in completely side ways. With all the issues we had putting it together it took us 4 1/2 hours until it was complete.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great activity for our Grandkids This unit is very well built. I assembled it in 3 hours by myself. If you have building or prior assembly skills it can be done by one person. Use the online assembly video, it was very helpful. The old adage of 'a picture is worth a thousand words' is true. I prepared the are of the yard with weed barrio and bark chunks to prevent having weed and grass problems plus give the kids an extra cushion. I used permanent marker and put 'Skull and crossbones' on the flag and named it 'Skull Rock' One piece of advice, I took 20 minutes and sorted out the various sets of bolts, washers, nuts and bagged them by set numbers and bagged the sets by number. Really helped out at the assembly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 3 Year Old Loves It! We wanted to get a swing set for our 2 girls (3.5 years and 11 months) but the size of our yard didn't allow us to get anything that would last them for several years. The Skyward Summit is a perfect size for our yard and provides endless entertainment for our 3.5 year old. She keeps telling me to call her Izzy when she climbs it because it is Neverland Mountain! We just got it so I'll see how it does through the winter but my daughter's preschool has one as well and it seemed to have sustained the weather just fine. The other perk of this product is that when the girls are done with it in 5-7 years, it will be much easier to disassemble then a whole swing set! We highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Way Cool The only drawback was that there was a small bag of hardware (nuts and bolts) missing from our shipment. I am sure that since this is a newer product, those who put the parts in left this bag out. We ran to the hardware store to pick up the parts we needed and were on our way (we did have to go back as I forgot to mark some pieces that were missing - silly wife that I am). We have a four year old girl and a 1 year old boy. They both enjoy it. My son only climbs underneath, but loves it. My daughter loves racing to the top. All in all - totally worth the money and time.

My son is 6 and my daughter is 5. We are wanting something other than a swing set. I am wondering if our kids will play on this for years to come or are they at the end of the age bracket? I notice alot of the reviews are about kids younger than mine.
Asked by: Streeta F.
5 is about the end for this toy. Get Gator Island....A huge hit. We hook up to kitchen sink and use warm water and kids love it! difficult to put away but worth it.

Does anybody know if you can put it in a "Playroom"? It is too hot where we live and I think it would get more use inside. It says there are anchors for the ground, so is it OK to just have it on carpet? If I watch kids closely. Thank You,

We will be placing this in an outdoor play area over concrete. What are the current playground guidelines on providing a safe play surface in case of falls, i.e. how DEEP does the rubber mulch need to be? TIA.
Asked by: Mike S.
Do not install the Skyward Summit or surfacing material over concrete, asphalt, packed earth, grass, carpet or any other hard surface. It is recommended that a shock absorbing material should extend a minimum of 6.5 ft. in all directions from the perimeter. For additional details about installation, please visit http://images.step2.com/media/pdfs/782200_assembly.pdf

Can children climb on this barefooted, or do the climbing rocks hurt bare feet?
Asked by: Mike S.
Bare feet are fine. The surface isn't soft or entirely smooth (so that it's slip resistant) and one could conceivably stub a toe. Such is outdoor play. Jumping from the rock onto the surrounding surface is probably a bigger risk to feet so the suggested soft surrounding is a good idea.

Is it possible to fit additional climbing holds onto the Skyward Summit?
Asked by: Gary G.
Hi Gary, We purchased the Skyward Summit a few years ago and have been extremely pleased with it. Our children love to climb and play on, in, and around it. Since the climbing wall is recessed in the areas where the climbing holds are installed it would be difficult and most likely unstable to attach additional holds.

I am going to pick up the SS will I be able to fit it in my honda pilot?
Asked by: Pam W.
If it is assembled it will not fit in any SUV. It will need the bed of a pickup truck. If it is still in the box you should check the box dimensions (should be on the website) and measure your Honda.
