Customer ReviewsRated 5 out of 5 by Working Parent/Student from Push Buggy The wheels were hard to get on especially with a kid who wants to get into the toy immediately, if the option had been there I would have paid to get it assembled so it was ready right out of the box. Other than that though this toy was WONDERFUL! We got in when the little one was 15 months and should have gotten it sooner. This is so much better than the stroller since the munchkin actually likes to ride in it. We have taken it to the gardens and the park, the zoo etc. I would like to see a place to put a bag or something since thats a must when traveling with a little one but overall this product was great.Date published: 2011-05-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from WONDERFUL!!!! We purchased this prodect in 2000 (yes, it is almost 9 years old!) becaus emy daughter hated her stroller. She loved this car! It has held up so well; through our 9 year old daughter, 5 year old daughter, 2 year old niece, and now our 11 month old son and the only problem we have ever had is the handle broke recently. BUT it is 9 years old and had LOTS of use! I ordered a replacement handle for under $15 and I could not believe that 9 years later the part is available! I convinced myself that I would have to order a whole new car; thankfully I was WRONG! I love this product and plan to buy more Step 2 products!!Date published: 2009-04-09Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great buggy but... My son and I love this buggy along w/my neices and newphews they are constantly fighting over them.Kids..LOL..So my sister bought one but...The cons are: The handle is very loose and the wheels are very cheaply made they crack very easily.I have only had mine a few months and need new wheels and have only used it very few ties except on play dates. It is sorta loud but we got used to it.My sister got one and she put vacuum belts around the middle of the wheels with a thin layer of clear silicone to seal it and then it was quiet and worked better.I am waiting for wheels to replace mine from Step 2 and then we will be back on the road again...YEAH!!! I would recommend this buggy.Date published: 2010-01-21Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great ride on, but broken I purchased this for my daughter for Christmas and she loves it. It is very cute, and very easy to use, with a neat storage compartment. She loves to go out riding in it everywhere. But about two months ago I noticed that the wheel on the back right hand side was coming apart at the seem. She rode on it just a few more times, and now it is cracked all the way around. There are no replacement parts that I have found, and it is to where she can no longer use this item. Our yard is all grass, and our driveway soft dirt. Don't know what could have caused this to occur. I have always been pleased with the items from Step 2 until this. Overall, it's a great toy and I guess I will have to re-buy it.Date published: 2008-06-17Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from For My Toddler, This Beats A Stroller! I initially purchased the Push Around Buggy because it looked like fun and I thought it would be a nice change of pace for my toddler. As it turns out, this is one of her favorite toys! She pushes it around inside and sits on it inside. She likes to put things in the "trunk" and take them out. She likes to pretend to drive. We take it to the park and also use it instead of the stroller to make the long trip from the top floor of our building to the mailbox or to run short errands. It's fun and she can see everything going on, unlike when she's in her stroller. It's not practical for long days of shopping, but it's perfect for short jaunts and just for fun around the house. GREAT PRODUCT!Date published: 2007-05-24Rated 5 out of 5 by KaiserMomof4 from Best Ride-On I ever Bought! I love this toy! I have seen the neighborhood children riding around on these and knew I had to get one for my little one! She had it about 2 months and the handle tab that inserts into the buggy started to crack. My baby is only 20lbs not at all the 50lb max, we were dissapointed, of course. I know this couldn't be normal.I have 4 children and we have purchased many types of Ride-On toys and play things from STEP2. I've seen these Buggys out grow children.I contacted STEP2 to buy a replacement handle and they replaced it immediately, at NO CHARGE! What a great company! I am very satisfied with my purchase and the company that backs their product!I don't expect any problems from the new handle!Date published: 2007-10-01Rated 4 out of 5 by Shaz from Love it- but.... We've had two of these and the kids love them. They are also a great alternative to a stroller when going to the park or somewhere that you don't have to get in and out of tight corners. THe handle can be a bit stiff to get in and out but great that it comes off to make it easier to get into the car for transporting it. The kids love to put things under the bonnet and it's good to store little treasures :) The only complaint I have with this is that the safety belt on one of the cars has shredded, and is not functional anymore. Not a huge problem now that the kids are bigger, but would have been if used by younger/smaller children. Not sure if this can be replaced. If it can, I think I would rate 5.Date published: 2010-01-14Rated 4 out of 5 by Mr Cool from Best looking push car This car is GREAT. My son loves it and so do I. Being a sports car nut I prefer this one to the whisper ride because it looks so much cooler. The only real downside are the noisy wheels. As you can see in the pic I modified my sons car with the Porsche hood emblem and personilzed license plates. To make the wheels quieter I went a to motorcycle shop and asked for an old motorcycle tire tube. (They gave it to me for free). I cut four strips of the tube and stretched them over the wheels. They don't slip and it's much quieter now. He gets a ton on compliments on his speed racer.Date published: 2010-07-21Rated 5 out of 5 by sthpaw from Great alternative to a stroller We bought our buggy on a gagage sale over a year ago and we have put many miles on it. It is very easy to push on smooth roads and sidewalks. We keep our water bottle in the front storage compartment during walks. The plastic tires can be noisy at times (espicially on gravel or rough surfaces) but it has never created any problems. We even took it to the zoo and it worked great! Our son is much more content in the little car than he is in a stroller. As with other reviews, I would say most kids will outgrow it by age 2. We started using the buggy when our son was about 7 mos. and he is now 18 mos. He is a big boy and I doubt that he will be able to use it much longer because he is running out of leg room.Date published: 2007-05-28Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Replacement parts are EXPENSIVE My 2 little ones love this car. It's great that the older kids can push them in it. While I like it a lot, I'm very disappointed in how flimsy the handle is. Our handle broke (the plastic actually split about 80% of the way around the base of the handle) and I called to get a replacement. A replacement handle was OVER 20.00+ shipping! I paid like 40.00 for the whole car so how can they charge that much for a handle alone?? I also dislike how loud the wheels are. Wish I had the Whisper Ride buggy as it is almost impossible to carry on a conversation when pushing this.Date published: 2012-03-28Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from I would definitely recommend it! I actually bought this at a [...] store for only [$]. It was the best [$] I could have spent! Don't know how old it is, looks like it has had lots of lovin' already but it is still in great shape. My son loves it. He feels like a big boy, putting things into the trunk, getting into the car, putting on the seatbelt and steering. He is a tall two year old and has plenty of leg room for now. Wish we had purchased one of these sooner! Only thing I would change is the handle -- I would make it longer. I am pretty tall and I find that I have to bend over somewhat to push it.Date published: 2007-06-09Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from nice little buggy for little ones We bought this car for our daughter's 1st birthday, and she loved it! great car for short distances( ie. the park, to get the mail, etc.) My daughter, however, is fairly tall (33" ) and already has trouble with not enough leg room. We had to stop using it because her feet dragged on the ground at 18 months old. I think they need to rethink the age range for this one, there is no way she'd fit at 3! My handle is also a bit of a problem, as I have to keep tightening the nut on the back (loosens quickly) All in all, a nice little car for small children, and quick trips.Date published: 2010-09-05Rated 4 out of 5 by Rusty from Texas from Great little push around car! Great toy for the small grandkids. They love the look of this and love to go out in it. Wasn't really hard to put together since I've done well over 20 of these kinds of toys. But......the instructions were terrible compared to others I've done. Most people I know speak, read and write English! Which should have been used at each phase of the assembly. Instead was a bunch of pictures which were hard to figure out since I can't read any of the other 6 languages which were below each pic. Overall it went together pretty good. Better instructions would have helped.Date published: 2014-04-29Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from My daughter loves it I purchased the buggy for my 9 month old daughter and when it arrived my wife said there was no way she was old enough for it. Well after assembling it in 15 minutes my wife was changing her tone. I sat my daughter in it, buckled her up, and away we went. With in a couple minutes she learned what the steering wheel was for. We kept the car as an inside toy for a week but as soon as the Spring weather showed up we turned the car into her stroller. We walk the dog every evening with my daughter in the buggy. I HIGHLY recommend this for young thrill seekers.Date published: 2013-04-21Rated 1 out of 5 by CLYmom from WHEELS ARE TOO LOUD We got the Push around Buggy as a "big present" for my son's 1st birthday.. but the wheels are so loud that they hurt his ears and cries because of the loud noise. I called customer service and basically got an "Oh well, we can't do anything.. you have to buy the more expensive Silent Ride".. had I known that before, I would have.. now we are stuck with this one we can't use. We are a one income household, and money is tight and we can't buy multiple toys. I wish I would have read the reviews before I bought this.. He fell in love with the thing. He is now 14 months and we still use it all the time. Problem just occured the other day with rear tire. Split down the seam. [...] Sister owns one for her little girl where our son stays for his day care. He rides that one two and loves the clic key (older model). Ours just has a sticker :( (are you listening step 2!!). Lady stopped us one day an inquired about it for her grandson. Neighbor also has one. Very popular in the neighborhood.Date published: 2007-10-06Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from wheel split down center seam My son loved this car, but after one season, the back right wheel split down the seam and the two halves came apart. Son is 4 years old now and too big for it, but I will try to call and order a replacement wheel to give it to my younger niece. If you order the product, make sure all wheels are sturdy. This one wheel was obviously different than the other three--there was a visible seam; the other wheels did not have this. Wheels could be sturdier. Hard rubber would be better than plastic, but probably not cost effective for the company.Date published: 2007-07-14Rated 5 out of 5 by chicklet morales from my daughter star is the star riding this my daughter hated strollers but loved this.its very strong steardy safe.she absolutly stood out in a crowd. every child that saw her wanted to try it.she made lots of new friends this way.the attention also makes your child feel special.just make sure the pins in the back of the handle is in because if its not it will wear and eventually crack if you use it alot as we do.you will love this product you can even go light shopping with it and put the package in the front compartment.you can also make it more special like i did by putting there name on the back in fancy letters and putting stars or what ever they like on it.i highly reccomend this product.you will have just as much fun with it as your child will, and than you will reccomend it too.Date published: 2007-04-30Rated 2 out of 5 by Leo from Fun BUT loud, shakes, & short handle My 1 year old absolutely loves to climb on the car and ride in it for *short* rides.BUT....The wheels are too loud and the whole thing shakes so much when we have taken him out for walks around the block on the sidewalk -- he THROWS UP! Also, my husband can't push it because the handle is too short for him to stand up straight and push (he's 6 feet tall). And last, the connector between the handle and the car is not aligned well -- it takes me 15 to 20 minutes to reattach the handle if I take it off for storage or in the car to the park.Date published: 2008-05-23Rated 4 out of 5 by M.B. from 18-month old loves it I got this product so I could take my 18 month-old out for walks without having to be in a stroller. He LOVES riding around in his "car", both inside and outside the house. The foot rests allow me to do the pushing (good for a child who is not coordinated enough to pedal on his own yet, or if you don't want the pedals getting in the way like they do on many other bikes/cars), and the trunk is a cute option where my son likes to store his stuff. Seatbelt is a nice feature. I do wish the buggy had a couple of extra features like a key to turn or other dials to play with, but generally, it's a great toy. He's starting to show interest in pushing it himself, which is hard to do with this toy, so we may have to class up to a toy meant for older children soon.Date published: 2010-06-23Rated 1 out of 5 by Wanted the whisper rider... from Buggy is not good for my sons ears! I literally just got this days ago for my sons first birthday and I chose it over the whisper rider because of the handle issues, now I see they have a solution to that problem and I couldn't have known how terribly loud it is on any surface other than grass. I just discovered this website and this is the first item I have purchased, but I do not want to use this product for fear it could damage my baby's hearing. I wish I would have gotten the whisper rider and taken a chance with the handle. [...]I cannot use this product.Date published: 2007-10-14Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Much loved toy Have purchased 3 of these buggies over time. The children really love to ride in them and seem to believe that they are really driving! A design flaw as I see it is...where the handle fits into the car (on the car) this area cracks. Also the handle cracks at the bottom. I think that this is caused by pushing the handle down to get it over a curb or obstacle. These two areas need to be reinforced so as to make the toy long lasting and useful. Once the handle breaks, you can no longer push the car and then it is useless.Date published: 2009-10-31Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from ~*~ HIGHLY Suggested ~*~ It is loud on pavement, concrete etc, but the uses are ENDLESS. More entertaining than a stroller so it's great for the mall or other outdoor activities. Handle does come off so much easier to transport, but slightly on the large side so you have to prepare for the space it's going to consume. My son adores this toy and I was more than happy to order it from the step two website. Definitely recommended. It is something that will last. The squeaky horn, storage compartment in front, and steering wheel are great additions to enhance the use too. I always get comments and questions on how cute and efficient it is. I also recommend the motorcyle ride on. Our family is long time fans of step two products and if you can't find it in a store, you can order it online :)Date published: 2008-05-12Rated 5 out of 5 by Mommy for one from Still loving it!!! My son loves this car. He's been using it since before he was 1 yr old. He'll be 2 yrs in a couple weeks. He has a tricycle, that has a handle for parents to push; he'd rather ride in his car buggy. He also has a Harley car that goes 2-5mph. He'd still rather this buggy. When the neighborhood kids come over, they also love to ride in this buggy. Sometimes I have to let the parents take their kid home and bring the buggy back later. I don't know what it is about this buggy but it is a very smart buy! We absolutely love it!Date published: 2013-07-24Rated 5 out of 5 by InstaG8R from By far the best toy for 7-18 months My son loves this toy way-way beyond any other toy. He just lights up when we push him around. A much added bonus is the storage that can hold both a water bottle and sanitary wipes for sanitizing the park swing. My son wants to get into the buggy himself, but the hump poses a challenge; especially when getting out, but he quickly learned the skill which is good. He wont remember much from this age, but I believe he will have fond memories going to the park in this buggy. I think Step2 should call it the "June Buggy."Date published: 2008-06-13Rated 5 out of 5 by Stanisse King from Twin Boys Love There Car! Bought this for my twin boys when they were about 9 months old.... Glanced at it at the store and didn't buy it at first because I didn't think they could sit up in them and not fall out... but discovered they had a seatbelt... bought two that night took home and my boys scream at the door to go out in their cars. My kids and I love this buggy. My kids always fight over it so we did have to buy another one. It's cute and pratical for 12-24mo(2 1/2 years old maximum) I wouldn't push it to much over for older kids because they get tall.I would recommend it. The handle fits very loosely and the wheels don't last very long they started to crack after only using it a few times and only a few months. The noise didn't bother us but it is sorta of loud.We got used to it.If you put a piece of rubber strip( we used vacuum belts w/a thin layer of clear silicone to keep it in place) around the middle of all the tires it made more quiet and the wheels last a lot longer.Other than that we are waiting for the replacement wheels from Step 2.Other than that I would recommend it.Kids just love it.Date published: 2010-01-21Rated 4 out of 5 by Coz from Great product BUT OH THOSE NOISY WHEELS! Not one but two are in our family. One at our Grandson's home and one at ours AND all of us wish the wheels were not so noisy. HERE'S OUR SEMI-SOLUTION...strips of worn out towels glued to the "tread" area of the wheels then covered with several layers of duct tape. When carefully done it gives the wheels a less noisy "roll" and a silvery look that's kinda cool BUT when the concrete abrasion is severe enough the "fix" comes loose and we're back to square one. How about rubber wheels from you folks at Step 2?....Date published: 2007-09-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Push Around Buggy - Awesome!! My twins just turned one and got this for their birthday - I LOVE it!! I like that it has a platform for their feet - instead of just a 'peg' like most push arounds. The seat belt is perfect and it is super easy to push - even 2 buggies at a time. I wish they had a double! We've been using it in the house and just recently took it outside - I agree with another feedback that it is a little noisy - but still great! The compartment on the front is nice size and can hold lots of 'goodies'. Great item for the price!Date published: 2008-05-06Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous from POOR HANDLE DESIGN My two year old loves this buggy! She sits in it, honking the horn, as we can no longer use it for our much loved daily walks. I am very disappointed in the handle design, as it is not very sturdy. It broke at the base and I have had to reinforce it 2 times already, but I can no longer salvage it. My daughter is very upset when I cannot take her for a ride in it anymore. I cant afford a new one right now, as we have both lost our jobs, so for now, it has become a place for her to sit while we are in the backyard.Date published: 2009-12-06
