4 Ways Kids Can Help the Earth

It’s never too early to start teaching kids how they can make an impact by taking care of the Earth. Earth Day is a great day to kick off new traditions that they can participate in!

  1. Recycle-Teach your kids the importance of recycling items that they use on a daily basis. They will enjoy adding graded school papers, magazines, food boxes, cans and plastic bottles to recycling bins. For some interesting facts about recycling, visit Recycle Facts for Kids!
  2. Plant & Watch it Grow-Did you know that the average tree produces enough oxygen for a family of 4 to breathe for a year? Planting a tree in your yard is a great way to get the whole family invovled with this process! If you don’t have room for a tree, you could plant a vegetable garden! Kids will take pride in tending their garden and will take delight in watching the vegetables grow. They could even share their crops with neighbors and friends. 3. Clean up-Pick an area such as a park and help clean it up! You can recycle the items you collect and the park will look like new!
  4. Conservation-Making a simple change like turning off lights when you leave a room will conserve energy. Taking shorter showers and turning off the water while you’re brushing your teeth will help with water conservation.

At Step2, we help the environment by re-using 100% of our post-industrial scrap from our rotational molding manufacturing. We chip, pulverize, re-color and re-use 100% of our PE resin as shown in the photos below.

How will your family be getting involved with helping the Earth this year? Please share your ideas in our comments area, we would love to hear them!
