Recognizing Step2 Employees: Employee Appreciation Day

Studies show that employees who are appreciated in the workplace lead healthier lives. They have better sleeping habits, have less stress and their general wellness is better. Appreciated employees are also more engaged and perform better in the workplace.

At Step2, our culture is defined by 6 pillars of role model leadership. Our employees are encouraged to make an impact, to celebrate successes and own their mistakes, to embrace teamwork and breakdown silos, act with urgency and positivity, collaborate, communicate and execute, and to be candid and considerate.

Each month, employees who exemplify these pillars are nominated to win our Role Model Leadership Behavior award. The recipients of the award get to have lunch with our President and CEO, Chris Quinn and they get their name engraved on our company’s “Stanley Cup.” An individual, a group or a department can win the award.

The first recipient of the award was Beth Williams, who is our Customer Service Supervisor. “I felt very honored and surprised to receive the Role Model Leadership Behavior Award,” exclaimed Beth. “It meant so very much and made me feel humbled and loved.”

Our latest recipient was Yvette Hall, who is one of our Customer Service Representatives. “I’m blessed to work for a company that appreciates their employees by recognizing their work ethic,” said Yvette. “The culture at Step2 really means a lot. Your hard work pays off and the employees are recognized and rewarded. I strongly believe that being rewarded keeps the moral up and makes me strive more for other unforeseen surprises.”

In addition to our employees feeling appreciated, Step2 feels appreciated by receiving awards from our community. Last year we were one of the recipients of the NorthCoast 99 Award. NorthCoast 99 is an annual recognition program that honors 99 great workplaces in Northeast Ohio. This April we will be one of the recipients for the Smart Culture award. Smart Culture recognizes organizations that have developed a culture that enhances job satisfaction, provides a competitive advantage in the marketplace and supports productivity.
