We bought this for our 13 month old son for Christmas...we set it up early, and it has been such a wonderful help!! He loves it and will play with this for so long! We can cook dinner, clean, fold laundry, finish a meal, read the newspaper, etc. without a toddler climbing all over us and demanding more attention. He loves the juke box and will dance along to the songs. It is definitely durable, as we keep finding our son standing on top of the open oven door, and it hasn't broken off yet! He eats his snacks at the table now, so cute! My only wish is that it would have come with more play food.

This is a cute set, but my version was missing the burner, the ringer bell, the jukebox and the faucet- all of the things that make noise and really accents the whole "diner" feel. We got it a few days before Christmas and as we were putting together before Christmas morning, it was extremely disappointing that it would be missing stuff, and couldn't get it before Christmas. The Step 2 folks were nice when I called. But overall, it took some of the thrill away as a parent.

I purchased this kitchen for my twin granddaughters. My craft room (their playroom) is done in 50s diner style. This matches perfectly with my decor. It is a perfect size. When not in use I can move it against the wall and it is unobtrusive. They love to play kitchen and already have enjoyed using all of the accessories. I would recommend this.

Susan M: I do not know. It was a gift for my granddaughter and I haven't actually heard the juke box play as she lives in another state and when I see her, we are usually out of the house. She loved the diner, however, and I can recommend it highly. Between my four granddaughters, we have purchased 7 Step2 products and are very satisfied. Oct 7, 2013

Amy R: I do not know about the plastic. I would not fill the coffee pot with water since the opening is small and would be difficult to clean thoroughly. However, my children love the diner. We play with it all the time and they even eat at the diner on special occasions. It's a big hit with other kids (and adults) too! Feb 12, 2014

To replace the electronic doorbell batteries, unscrew the doorbell, remove the battery door and insert 2 "AAA" batteries. To replace the electronic burner batteries, loosen both screws and insert 2 “AA” batteries inside battery compartment. To replace the jukebox batteries, loosed screws and insert 2 "AA" batteries.
