At the last moment, we found this... the perfect gift for my 5-year old grandson! We only wish we had found it a couple of years ago, because he absolutely LOVES it! It's perfect! The best part of my review is to let you know how GREAT Step2's shipping is. I had already missed every shipping deadline for Christmas from every major department & toy store that carried this product when I decided to go straight to the Step2 website to order it directly... too late, we missed their deadline by 2 days... but I decided to order from them anyway. We thought there was no way to receive it on time. We had decided to give him the art supplies 'on time', and tell him the 'big gift' art desk would be arriving a couple of days later... We were absolutely shocked when this large package arrived at the door BEFORE Christmas!! STEP2 really did a fantastic job in fulfilling this order! Not only is their product a superior choice... but I can assure you, the order fulfillment and shipping is second to no one! Thanks so much Step2...

I have bought 2 desk this week and this one was a bit disappointing. The first one bought at [...] and the other at [...] and they didn't have a display for the product. The product is big and light weight which is bad for 28 pound 2 year old. I have to get something for the stool so it does slide everywhere wood floors. My girl is small, 28lbs at 2 and a week and she know her abc's. It is 2 big for her. The stool slides on the floor she has cried twice today over it AND i got it today.

Comments about Step2 Art Master Activity Desk™:

My grandson loves it and spends a great deal of time at this desk. He loves that he can get his own paints, crayons, and books without the aid of a parent and that makes him feel grown up. My daughter loves the fact that it holds so much and is easy to wipe and clean up. A great buy that he will be able to use for several years ahead. As well, we can pass it on to younger cousins. That's the quality of the construction.

I bought this for my 5 yr.old grand-daughter. It is absolutely a great product. She spends many hours doing art projects..It has a great amount of storage and something that will grow with her. This is one of many Step 2 products we have purchased. They are well constructed and will last a lifetime..I would highly recommend this product.

Comments about Step2 Art Master Activity Desk™:

I am completely satisfied with this desk. It was extremely easy to assemble and seems pretty durable. Many spots to store things! The only thing I'm slightly unhappy with is the dry erase board that sits on the desk top. Now matter how much we screw it in, my son is still able to rip it off the hinges holding it to the desk. Otherwise, great product that I hope lasts for a few years!

Faye R: I bought for my Grandson X-mas Gift, He'll be starting school next year. This is a durable cleanable multi function desk, good price to. The erasable easel is my preference but! this one has alot more storage, so I figured the easel on this one can be hinged on the reverse side to get the same use, a flip up easel, I'd perfer the chair with the back for support, for him sitting at desk, for the most part children can be unpredictable with paint and such, being washable is great. Thank You. Jan 20, 2014
Sharon k: Saw this at a clients house and thought my grandson would like a space to keep his are supplies. It looked sturdy and had great space. A desk that he would not quickly out grow. A 3rd year birthday present. Jan 12, 2014

A shopper asked: What is the difference between the Art Master and the Deluxe? The deluxe looks to be slightly bigger but they look about the same, is it just the size difference? Sep 24, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Step2Staff: In addition to the difference in color palette, the sizing is a little different between these two art desks. The Art Master Activity Desk is taller and the Deluxe Art Master Desk is wider. The seating unit on the Deluxe also has a back vs. a stool that comes with the Art Master Activity. Please use this chart as reference to the difference in size of the two art desks http://blog.step2.com/2013/05/art-desk-easel-dimensions.cfm Oct 15, 2013

Lynn K: I bought 2 desks, the Creative Projects table as our youngest son has 2 boys and the Art Master Activity Desk - as our middle son has only 1 child in this age category.
Both are still in use today - they have be well loved and used daily - in fact one is used on a home school basis!
They are sturdy, clean up nicely and a very good buy!
I would certainly recommend either of these products!

John Z: We checked the box (still have it) but it doesn't indicate a recycle # on it. I checked the Step2 slide/gym (but not the bottom) and didn't see any recycle marks on that either. Next time at granddaughters will check the art desk for a recycle symbol. I would think Step2 could answer this for you though - they're based in Ashland, OH and they should know. Sorry couldn't give you a definite on this. I'd think it is recyclable unless damaged by chemicals of some sort though. Good luck. It's a great art desk, granddaughter uses it all the time (4 1/2yrs old). Loves her slide/gym too and her Step2 Princess Castle bed also! Good stuff, lasts forever! The Zans Jun 26, 2013

Stacie E asked: I washed this product and have some water in the leg of the base. Does anyone have an idea how to remove the plastic plugs on the bottom of the leg? Is there a special tool for Step 2 toys I need? Sep 2, 2013

Step2Staff: The vent plugs are not meant to be removed. To remove excess water from inside this art desk, we recommend drilling a ¼” hole at the bottom away from any seams. This will not affect the integrity of the product. Sep 3, 2013
