The Choo Choo Wagon is the best invention ever for parents of multiples. It is light and easy to put into the van for travel. I have triplet 14 month old girls. We have outgrown our triple stroller that fits in the stores. Our triple jogger is too wide to take into any stores. So we were looking for something other than the jogger. The Choo Choo wagon is the best solution.
We purchased the Choo Choo Wagon with the trailer and our girls love, love love it! They crawl into it and wait to be buckled up and taken for walks. When we go shopping it is easy to take apart and put into my minivan. Since each girl has their own seatbelt. I don't have to worry about them wiggling out during walks. For any parent with multiple toddlers this is the answer to your transporting needs.
The only downfall would be if you don't have a minivan or bigger vehicle the Choo Choo wagon may not fit. It fits perfect in our Honda Minivan so we don not have any problems getting.

Let me begin by saying that I'm a six foot six male and the handle is not designed for such individuals. The older models handle worked very well never causing excessive pulling on my shoulder or using it by my fingertips because of its shortness.

Now, let's talk about the assembly of the wagon axles. First, the sadly designed axle holder is worthless, if you're not careful the axle and hub will be put together at an angle. Thus, you must be very careful to initially hammer it straight or you're sunk and in for a rocky bumpy ride. The instructions / diagram is very generalized and takes a lot of humm let me see attitude to put the wagon together correctly.

Putting the wagon in a car is not exactly a simple task. Because of the way the handle is designed it will not collapse against the wagon thus making it impossible to fit in a smaller SUV or sedan, except on its side. If your fortunate to own a Minivan than you'll have no such fit problems except the handle which sticks straight up possibly blocking some drivers rearview vision. As a comparison the older style wagon had no such issues.

With all this said I received a damaged wagon initially which was quickly corrected by Step2, which was the right thing to do. Overall the wagon is a God sent for parents of twins and a wise financial investment.

Comments about Step2 Choo Choo Wagon:

My kids love this wagon! I have a small, in-home daycare and it was simply impossible to go on walks. Now we can get out and about. Everyone in the neighborhood loves seeing us ride by :). It was a little challenging to assemble but once I realized one of the parts was used as a tool instead of a part to the wagon it was pretty simple. I'm planning on buying one more trailer which would make room for 4 kids. Another great thing about this product is that the kids are far enough apart so they can't bother or fight with one another It's surprising not to difficult to pull and navigate! Even when it's parked the kids enjoy climbing in and out of it. I would highly recommend this product.

Happy with the wagon. Actually purchased 2. The second one I meant to order the combo (three cars). When I called customer service they wouldn't give me the price difference and wanted to charge me full price for the additional car. I'm very disappointed in the customer service.

Comments about Step2 Choo Choo Wagon:

I got the choo choo wagon on [@]for [$] plus the trailer because someone had bought it for there triplets but at 4 didn't fit in it. It was brand new in packaging we even had to assemble, let me tell you, my kids love this wagon, there is no fighting cause they each have there own seat and if we go out with a friend we have an extra seat for them too, my children are quite small so and 4 and 18 months they fit great but if you have large children they might not fit in it very long. The only thing is it is quite bulky so we have to strap it on top of our toyota corolla to bring it anywhere but that really insn't a problem at all! Overall this is a great wagon if you have 2 or more kiddies to cart around!!

Daniel M: Hi George, We have 2 children and wanted a wagon for daily usage. We opted for the Choo choo wagon and bought 2 extra cars, one we use to transport the material (bags and toys), the 4th wagon is only attached when we bring a neighbour's son along. We relly like the choo choo because each child has his/her own car so it prevents most kicking and fighting during the travel. The only issue is that all extra cars are orange! Jul 16, 2013

Cynthia C: I love my canopy cruise wagon. I also have twins but they are now 24, each has a little girl that I babysit. The canopy is a must for safety and to keep them out of the weather. Since you pull the wagon behind you safety is a big concern, with the canopy it's harder for someone to grab one of the children. I use mine a lot. I had to replace the canopy and the step2 customer service was GREAT! I had my new canopy within days and at no cost with the 1 year warranty. So many fun things to do with this wagon and with the seat belt the children are safe and secure. This wagon is easy to move in and around town.

Marie S: We purchased the OSU wagon for Two Plus. We've used the wagon in pulling two children, ages 4 and 1 1/2. The wagon has seat belts, a door latch, a compartment for storage, and has been reliable and stable. I put it together (60 year old grandmother). I would suggest that you look for similar features. amelia b: We love our osu wagon but use it for my granddaughter who just turned three. I live in the city too so I deal with sidewalks and playgrounds with two kiddos in it it's a little harder to pull and steer due to the weight. Does she have double stroller? Helen M: The wagon wth the canopy is the best! We use it all the time! We take it to the parks and the zoos. Melissa M: I don't believe that those two cars come apart at all. The orange ones come off somewhat easily but the blue and red one are put together differently and don't come apart. They will both fit in the back of my van though so depending on the size of your car they might fit. May 16, 2014

MaryAnn H: I bought the choo choo wagon for my twin grandsons and they love it. Their older brother hands on in the front and it makes the wagon tough to pull (I am no shrinking violet either). So you may want to think about the weight you will be pulling. Especially up the hills. Three is a lot, four might be overload. IMO. Good luck. Feb 12, 2014

Michelle S: Yes, you could add a trailer (or an extra car) to increase the capacity to 4. I've seen some people with 5 cars total. My 3 kids were fine to pull, but I think 4 would be the "weight limit" for me to pull. Feb 11, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jill C: Yes, you can get additional cars. I have triplets and bought the wagon with two additional cars (total of 4) for thier first birthday. I bought an extra car for when we had family with us and/or as a place to put our extra "stuff". (Although it turned out to be good thing I did because a few months later a got pregnant again with our youngest. The instructions tell you you can have up to 3 extra cars (total of 5) on the wagon, but my experience is that any more than three cars gets really hard to pull and steer, especially when on a bumpy road. Bottom line, though, my kids loved riding in it because they each had their own seat, they could see all around it, and I recommend it to all my other mom friends because we use it so much. Even though it gets heavy to pull, so would a double or triple stroller and the kids like this a lot more. Hope this helps! Sep 9, 2013

    Natalie M: Stacey,
From what I know, yes you can get additional cars. I purchased my choo choo wagon from the step 2 website. I have twins and had another baby a year and 1/2 later. The wagon was the perfect device for all of us to get out and take walks. I believe you can add up to 5 on one wagon.. so basically you would have the one with the handle and can add up to 4 additional cars. I also think the main unit comes with 2 cars and I bought a third. Its very sturdy and easy to assemble. PS .. I also found a coupon promo code on line which helped with the bottom line. Hope this has helped?

    Daniel M: Hi Stacey,

Yes you can add extra wagons, but unless things have changed, they are only sold in orange, no other color was available.

We used to use 2 extra wagons (4 kids) on our choo choo. We didn't want to add more because of the weight, it was getting to heavy to pull!

Maria G: We have attached three additional wagons, for a total of 5. Not sure if I would recommend adding more than that, but you can definitely have 5 in a row! They're great, the kids love them, and easy enough for an adult and even kids to maneuver! Sep 9, 2013

jonathan l: Yes. We originally bought the first two with an additional car for our triplets. When I started watching my nephew, we bought a fourth car which I also use as an extra hand sometimes for diaper bags if I am by myself with the kids Sep 9, 2013

A shopper asked: I bought this wagon in great used condition. I started having a problem with the center of the first 2 cars "sinking down" and scraping on any small bump we run over on the sidewalk. It looks like the front car is leaning back and the 2nd car is leaning forward, so it's kind of caving in in the middle. I wasn't sure if there was anything that could be done about this, or if anyone else has had this problem. I'm pulling my 2 year old twins around in it, so it's not like we're exceeding the weight limit. Not sure what to do? Sep 18, 2013

I live in Edmonton as well so I know the winters can be awful :) this wagon is a great wagon but not for winter , there's no skis with it just the wheels . It would be fine as long as there wasn't a lot of snow ! Hope this helps !

jess w asked: I screen I pic online where someone had an infant car seat in it, will a car set fit in the new ones and will the seatbelt stretch far enough to buckle it in? May 31, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Tammy S: Hi Jessica, I bought the choo choo wagon I am Licensed Childcare provider and we love our wagon. I have four cars on mine. You ask about the infant carseat fitting in it, it does not fit in it because of where the cup holders are on each of the car of the wagon. What I do with the babies who cant sit up. I wrap them in a big blanket or sit them on a pillow and then wrap the seat belt aroun them. So that way there is no way they can fall out. May 31, 2013

Tracey B: I purchased the choo choo wagon and I am very pleased with the product. However as a parent and preschool teacher, I would not recommend anyone place an "infant car seat" inside the wagon. I truly believe the product was "not" designed for that purpose and it would be irresponsible to do so. May 31, 2013

A shopper asked: I really love this train but I two grandsons that love hours apart and I wanted to get them both this for Christmas, is it possible to purchase only one car at a time? This way I can start the trains for both of them. Please let me know if you know if it is possible to only buy one cart at time. Thank You, Paula Dec 6, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Step2Staff: Paula. Thank you for the great question. Unfortunately, we do not sell the first car with the handle by itself. The "connector" piece and location of the wheels would keep this from being able to balance without the second car.

We do have some other products that have "connecting" pieces that can be added on to at a later date:
http://www.step2.com/p/Wagon-for-Two-Plus has an additional connection piece to add later and our Pedal Farm Tractor http://www.step2.com/p/Pedal-Farm-Tractor also has a trailer that can be added on at a later time.

We hope this helps and that you have a great holiday season with your grandsons!
