Bought this as a Christmas present for my 2 1/2 year old and my 18 month old. They play with it so much! My 18 month old boy does everything possible with this table he climbs, sits, stands hids under it, and then of course he plays cars, trains, and under the little bridges he hides my daughters smaller dolls. My daughter really enjoys it too. She's a little older so she's able to pretend more and she enjoys the hills and sticker scenery that, by the way, looked really intimidating when I saw all of them, but the directions were clear and the stickers were easy to assemble. My only one complaint and concern would be WHY did the bridges have to be installed? Why didn't them come as part of the table? I could see them, over time, snapping/ breaking off and then my kids not enjoying it. Overall though it's a great toy and I'm really pleased with it.

Great fun at the get go, but the boys got bored with it fast, as there are limited ways to drive on the track. So they play with it when a friend comes over that is in "awe" still. But then it get ignored. It is very well made and good fun for special times, if you can save if for once a month/quarter type play time. The cars that come with it are a joke - their were 3 in our package but only one came with all the doors. I didn't bother calling as their are definitely 'low end' even if they came with all the doors and replaced them with alternative cars. Overall, a good product (table) and good fun for a limited time.

Mom of 3: Good quality and size. Easy to put together even with 3 kids 'helping'. Legs can be left off if child needs a floor-level play option, which was a handy and unexpected bonus for our special needs child. Overall good product that will last us many years.

I am very happy with this purchase. Both of our kids-a 2 year old boy and 5 year old girl-have been really happy with the Deluxe Canyon Road Train & Track Table. I'm happy that Hot Wheels cars fit so well on the tracks (because we have so many of them) and because they store so nicely inside of the table! The design is nice and clean-looking, so I don't mind the fact that it is currently in my living room.

We bought this as a gift for our 2 and a half year old son. He loves it. Our 8 month old pulls himself up to stand on it so, he can get in on the fun too.
Most of the cars and trains that we have can ride on the tracks with ease.

My grandchildren starting playing on this before the legs could be attached! Durable construction allowed them to sit on the play table (without legs attached) and dive right into playing with the train and cars. After being assembled it is big enough for both of them to play without getting in each others way. In the morning they wanted the top on so they could eat breakfast at it!

Comments about Step2 Deluxe Canyon Road Train & Track Table:

I wanted my twin toddlers to be able to use their Wheelies or Tonka cars on it. Looks like a table good for toddlers. The only cars that fit on it are the Hot Wheels or Matchbox size which are too small for my toddlers to handle. And my older child that has those cars is not interested in playing on this table. I like the top that comes with it to make it a table. Too expensive for actual product.

Carolyn M: I have two boys, ages 3 and 5. My five year old got a Step 2 sandtable for his 2nd birthday and both boys play with it a lot. I am very happy with its durability and this table looks very similar. We recently got rid of our wooden train table because it was falling apart (not a Step 2 product). I feel that this will be a great replacement for it. I like that is has a cover and am hoping that my sons will be able to set up their train tracks on it, in addition to using the built in tracks. We also use the table top often for crafts, eating, etc. It's a good little table and I think a 4 year old would definitely still enjoy it. Oct 9, 2013

Nikki B: They may be a little too wide for it, but I'm not positive we haven't ever had any yet. Our son uses a large majority of hot wheels trucks and cars and they fit perfect the largest car that would fit would probably be about 2.5-3 inches wide (that's for the widest opening going around the curves) the majority of the roadways are about 2 in wide. I can say this is the best and most favorite toy our son has ever had and his friends that are over can't seem to get enough of it!!! definitely a must buy for a boy :) hope that helps!! Oct 28, 2013

Linda LaFleur asked: I have purchased for my 2 year old grandson for Christmas. I want to get him some Thomas and Friends trains as well. Some reviews indicate that the "small" trains fit and others say the motorized Thomas and Friends does not fit. Exactly what size will fit the table. The "To Go" or the Trackmaster size?? Dorothy J: I both this for my daughter last year and bought all of the small Thomas the Trains to go with it (Diesel,Percy, Stepney, etc.) Some of them had the magnetic noses so they connect to another train, and some of them are just the vehicle. Mine ranged from $6 - $15 each and I found them at Walmart / Kmart / Target. I did not purchase the motorized ones so I can not say anything about those. I did buy a few that were the pull string type that make them go on their own and those work well too. Hope your grandson enjoys it! My daughter is 4 and still plays with it. Dec 17, 2014

          Nikki B: Hello,
Our son has this table we bought it for him christmas 2012, he is now 3. He still plays with this almost every day. The tracks are about wide enough for the average/typical hot wheels car size. Anything wider will not fit to drive smoothly through the table. Hope this helps!!

Linda C: No, legs do not fold but this is a very nice item, as is all step 2 items. Like that top can be removed and stored easily to use race track which also fits trains. Very sturdy, have seen my 3 year old grandson standing on it. Dec 2, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Cynthia N: It is white on one side and brown on the other. A heavy duty fiber board of some type. We have had HOURS of fun with this. VERY STURDY CONSTRUCTION. We do not use the train that came with the set but instead we use the little match box cars and they are perfect. Our grandson was diagnosed with autism and this is simple for him and entertaining. We got it for his 3rd birthday and together we are all still enjoying it. He is 4 now...
Trust me you can't go wrong with this investment.
