We set this up on flat ground until they got used to it, and now, we have it on the top of the hill and they have a longer, thrilling ride. Best ages are from 2-6, and, with many children, instead of purchasing a 2nd car, the children wait their turn on numbered poly-spots(circles)at the bottom of the coaster. It is organized and fair. My children are 41/2 and 16 months, love this ride and their friends do too!
* It was easy to assemble. Just don't forget to put washers on both ends of the screws!!!

Bought this for my son's 3rd birthday; took longer to assemble than to give birth to him (and probably more painful); the parts were the wrong size (the nuts and bolts didn't match up; the bolt went right through the plastic hole - needed to add washers to keep it together); needed 3 trips to the hardware store; none of the holes were pre-drilled, so that added to the time and frustration; once assembled, it's a fun toy, but the set-up wasn't worth it

    Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster™:

I'm a Step2 Ambassador and was given the opportunity to review the Extreme Coaster. This is the COOLEST toy ever and by far my 4 year old's most favorite Step2 toy of all time! He can push the little car up the ramp by himself and launch himself off the ramp. Repeat, for like an hour. "AGAIN" he'd shout! I've seen the Extreme Coaster online, but the photos do not do it justice on how FUN it is. This is the kind of toy that he won't easily get bored of and huge bonus points for the coaster providing him an energy outlet because he has TONS of it.

      Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster™:

As a Step2 Brand Ambassador, I was beyond thrilled when the opportunity arose for one of these to be delivered to my doorstep as part of my gig for 2015.

We'd tried the coaster (and it's smaller cousin) at friends' houses in the past, and the one thing that sorta held me back from buying it was the color scheme - which USED to be pretty vibrant, and didn't really match the rest of our toys or yard. Simple fix - change the color, and that's exactly what Step2 did. Not only does it have a more attractive green/navy/gray color scheme, but the decals have been updated to more of a "racing" theme - and my daughters LOVE that.

While my girls are on the younger side of the spectrum, the enclosed "car" has a weight limit of up to 80lbs, which means they have room to grow - and the bigger kids we know can join in the fun.

The tracks also make awesome launch ramps for diecast cars and monster trucks.

Our only downside right now is that we got ours when snow was on the ground... so I set it up inside. Yep, you need some major room to use it as an inside toy, so definitely go outdoors with it. That's where ours will be when the snow finally melts.

          Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster™:

The kids love this toy! I bought it for my nephew and nieces (3, 5 & 9) and they've played on it for hours. It's set up in the basement for the winter but it will be great for outside in the summer. The car goes quite fast so either have a long runway or use carpet/grass to bring the car to a stop. The pieces fit together in a clever way - does take some mechanical aptitude to assemble.

            Comments about Step2 Extreme Coaster™:

I purchased this coaster directly from the manufacturer, customer service, price, and shipping speed were great. This was a Christmas gift for my 2 boys ages 3 and 9. They absolutely love this thing, it's a riot! They play on it every day and it doesn't get old.

The coaster is well designed and easy to put together. I like the fact you can take it apart in the middle with just 2 bolts to make it easy to move or transport. When I started putting it together in our basement I was concerned I would have an issue moving it upstairs and outside in the future, but the 2 bolts will make it a breeze. This feature does not compromise the construction in any way. I feel the step coaster is well engineered and made of solid construction. It was super simple to put together! Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product if you have young kids.

One thing to note about assembly: there is a small plastic cap included in the wheel hardware. I didn't know what it was for until after the fact and the instructions are not clear on this piece. Use it to hammer the axels through the wheels to avoid damaging the plastic end caps on the wheel / axel assembly. It looks like a little black plastic hat.

Buy this toy, you will NOT be disappointed!
