I like how it is a store and a kitchen- it makes it less about domesticating children (and also more boy-friendly according to my husband). We were missing two parts, not needed to hold it together, but needed for the look. I called Step2 [...] They were very responsive. I would recommend this product and step2 as a company.

I bought this for my 2yr old daughter  birthday. She and her cousins (1 and 2yrs)play all day. The set came with 10 very hard fruits and veggies and 10 bakery items, so I had to buy more that are softer. 1 pot, 1 skillet, I had to buy more. They love to turn on the stove nobs to hear it boil and sizzle. I would have liked to seen the refridge with push buttons insted of stickers; and it make water and ice nosie. The oven has not stayed close sence I pulled it out the box. The hood vent really have a light. I think that could have been used for the oven or microwave. The microwave don't make noise or light up, no push buttons like the cheaper version. I don't mind the battery useage. All of the appliances are hard for the kids to pull open; there should have been actual handles. The kitchen sink could  have been a litte wider and deeper, and the facuet need running water noise. I'd rather have more amities then for it to come with food that you have to buy extra of anyway. There should have been two grocery bag insted of one. The cash register is really fun and have a credit card and coins, but it don't hold dollar bills. It's a very good hight for them to grow with.

this is a quality product, but it could have used a few more interactive components like microwave buttons instead of a decal. It was difficult to assemble because the instruction sheet is very poor and hard to follow.

My 2 yo daughter LOVES this kitchen! It took me longer to assemble than I thought but it is completely worth it. She plays in the kitchen every single day and loves to cook for mommy and daddy. I like the different areas of play - kitchen, dining, and bakery/market. She enjoys using the register and helping mommy shop. The stove top is beautiful and looks like a real kitchen. I only wish the microwave had buttons and made noises like other kitchens.

Tina D: We purchased this last Christmas for our son who was 2 1/2. He has played with it since day 1. He is extremely fortunate in the toy department and this seems to be his favorite still. The 'newest' has not worn off. My older nieces like to play as well. I did a lot of research before this purchase. I liked the large kitchens but was concerned he would soon be too tall for those with roofs. A 6 year old girl will really like the 'story' and 'bakery' case. It has the cash register too which all children love. It's not the best cash register I've seen, but it's not attached and you can upgrade it or put a different one there if you already have one. We love the handle on the end for the grocery bag. Very realistic. Instead of the stools shown in the picture I recommend the new tradition chairs with backs on them. You can get the set for $30. We already had them for his playhouse and moved them in to use at the bar. My son has made my husband and me sit many times in these tiny chairs as he prepares food or coffee for us. I highly recommend this particular product. Although not large, I think the 6 year old will enjoy. You can accessorize with other additional fake foods or small appliances. We have a toaster and a coffee pot. Dec 12, 2013

ROWE S: THERE IS ALOT TO DO WITH THIS KITCHEN/PLAY SET.
BOUGHT IT FOR OUR 3YR OLD GRANDSON BUT WE NOTICED KIDS 5 TO 7YR OLDS LIKE PLAYING/ INTERACTING WITH IT ALSO. GIRLS & BOYS TOO.
IT IS NOT JUST A KITCHEN AREA BUT A FAST FOOD PURCHASE AREA W/CASH REGISTER, COUNTER FOOD DISPLAY AND COUNTER TO EAT AT. WE THOUGHT IT WAS PRETTY NEAT FOR THE KIDS PLAY AREA.

Tina D: And one more recommendation - get some nice donuts or pastries to go in the bakery case. They make donuts with changeable toppings and all. The little things you add to it make it even that much nicer. Dec 12, 2013

Christin H asked: How deep are cabinets, refrigerator, and stove can they be used to store all food and accessories? Dec 12, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Rosanna C: All the food and accessories can easily be stored within the kitchen. You will not have any spilling out on the floor. I actually purchased a few more assesories for our kitchen. The shelves/cabinets are all 5.5 inches deep and the display case is 8.5 inches deep. The baskets that come with it are great. My kids have had this kitchen for two years and play with it almost everyday. They love to play "bakery" while I am cooking. If I had room in my house I would definitely buy the matching stools and table for it. Dec 12, 2013

Heather H: We LOVE this kitchen, still own it and our girls are 10 and 15. Our 4 year old nephew plays with it every time he visits :) Yes, there is room to store inside the different compartments and I keep a medium size basket next to the kitchen for overflow. Everything does fit neatly in the kitchen though (in the microwave, oven, baskets that come with it, etc). You'll love it! Dec 12, 2013

Nancy S: I would highly recommend this kitchen. Our granddaughter is 3 & her brother 6. They both love to play with the cash register & food center. Most items would be stored in either the baskets, shelves or refrigerator. I would suggest getting the 2 stools that can be ordered with it. I doubles as a bar to serve the prepared food. Enjoy. Andrea R: The stove, refrigerator and cabinets are not very deep, but I have found that I can store all of the accessories and food by stacking items on top of each other. The only thing that I cannot store is the cash register, but that sits on the counter easily and does not take up that much space. Dec 14, 2013

Julie G: They can store all items included, and many other items too. We purchased additional toy kitchen items and there is room for them and room to spare. Dec 12, 2013

Jill P: No, not deep enough to store the food. Only maybe 6 to 8 inches deep. The little grocery window on side has more storage than the kitchen part. Dec 13, 2013

Suzanne P asked: What parts of the kitchen make sounds? It says the cash register scans and lights up and I know a prior review mention the microwave doesn't make any noice, but what about the stove top or oven or phone? Jun 5, 2013

Mary B: Hi. The oven and microwave do not make any sounds, but the top range makes a sizzling sound when you turn the knobs. As far as the phone it does not come with one. My granddaughters age 3 and 2 love this kitchen and the cash register is a big hit. There is also a working light over the stove that they like putting on and off. I hope this helps! Jun 7, 2013

Rebecca C: I managed to get it together my wife's help! She is better with directions so she instructed and I did the hard work! ha

Frankly, I would rather buy a new one than pull it apart, but it could come apart in sections and reassembled, if I recall correctly.

Don't mean to be so vague but I hate these projects my wife makes me do! ha!
