I like how it is a store and a kitchen- it makes it less about domesticating children (and also more boy-friendly according to my husband). We were missing two parts, not needed to hold it together, but needed for the look. I called Step2 [...] They were very responsive. I would recommend this product and step2 as a company.

I bought this for my 2yr old daughter birthday. She and her cousins (1 and 2yrs)play all day. The set came with 10 very hard fruits and veggies and 10 bakery items, so I had to buy more that are softer. 1 pot, 1 skillet, I had to buy more. They love to turn on the stove nobs to hear it boil and sizzle. I would have liked to seen the refridge with push buttons insted of stickers; and it make water and ice nosie. The oven has not stayed close sence I pulled it out the box. The hood vent really have a light. I think that could have been used for the oven or microwave. The microwave don't make noise or light up, no push buttons like the cheaper version. I don't mind the battery useage. All of the appliances are hard for the kids to pull open; there should have been actual handles. The kitchen sink could have been a litte wider and deeper, and the facuet need running water noise. I'd rather have more amities then for it to come with food that you have to buy extra of anyway. There should have been two grocery bag insted of one. The cash register is really fun and have a credit card and coins, but it don't hold dollar bills. It's a very good hight for them to grow with.

Comments about Step2 Fresh Market Kitchen™:
We selected this for our 18 month old son after a lot of comparison shopping. We decided on the Fresh Market Kitchen because it wasn't overly gender-specific, and came with a neat market aspect that we thought would be appealing to our son. So far, this kitchen has been a big hit! Our son was so excited when we surprised him with it over the weekend, and he's been playing with it constantly ever since. He loves the cash register and the little light above the stove. I think he's still a little young to understand the entire idea of the kitchen, but luckily it's something he can grow into. The only down-side to this product was the assembly. My husband and I wrecked our wrists with the tons of screws that had to be worked into the darn thing. We definitely should have listened to the reviews that suggested using a drill. Otherwise, this product is great and we love it!

Comments about Step2 Fresh Market Kitchen™:
I looked at just about every other play kitchen on the market and decided on this one for a few reasons. I really loved that this is multi-sided; you aren't stuck with a back or side that does nothing and gets pushed up against a wall. Kids can cook or make sales on one side and walk around to sit or serve their creations on the other. I also love the fact that it's plenty big for more than one kid to play with at once, but it isn't so big that it takes up your whole room. Just the right size for our two-year-old. The stickers really bring the whole set to life and make it look fun, too. There are some other cool retro-style kitchens out there, but I thought we'd get tired of the pink or red after a while, and those are the sort you'd put against a wall. This kitchen will go the distance for us. The accessory set sold with the kitchen is pretty generous, and certainly enough to get started. My husband had a tough time putting it together on his own-- you want two people working on this. My only complaint is that the screws for the stove top and the little light over it are so small that getting them out is difficult, even with a tiny screwdriver. We stripped several, despite being very careful. Watch out for that. Otherwise, I'm really happy with our purchase and I know our little girl is going to love it for a long time. Try to use a coupon when you buy this, if you can!

I bought this for my daugther (18 mos) and she loves this kitchen. She's always playing with the burners and gets so excited over the sounds and she loves turning the light on and off. I thought she may be too little to enjoy everything the kitchen has to offer but I couldn't be more wrong. It's an adorable kitchen and was a perfect fit for my daughter!

This is such a cute kitchen! Our daughter received this as a gift at her third birthday from her grandparents and she was so excited! Upon assembly, we noticed we were missing a ton of the "included" accessories that are advertised. Of the entire accessory pack we received grapes, pear, apple, two forks, a cup and a strainer. Our daughter was disappointed to not have the rest of the food and pot and pan. She didn't know it included the register, which is good, because that was also missing! We are hoping to get the missing pieces because she loves all of the cubbies to organize her kitchen pieces and "cooking" us meals. Just hoping we can find the extra pieces to complete her kitchen! Great job Step 2, this is a great kitchen!!

I read the reviews before purchasing. You definitely need a power screw driver or drill. My husband wanted to help me put it together, but I wouldn't let him. It really wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. My 3 year old daughter LOVES this (& so do I). My neices came over after Christmas (ages 2 & 4), this was the biggest hit! Its a lot of fun bc its not just a kitchen, but a store! If I had to do this again, I would definitely purchase it again and refer it to everyone!!!
Service and delivery comments:
The stove door falls down a lot and the bakery window should be clearer to see the items displayed.
