    Comments about Step2 Gather & Grille Playhouse™:

I was very pleased when we finally got the house together. It was larger than I expected, and the openness makes for easy supervision. My daughter loves sitting on the bench and especially pushing the doorbell. A few cons, we had to be sent 2 additional doorbells before one would work, the half door doesn't truly stay closed (no matter how flat the ground is) and the stickers easily come off when wet. It also doesn't drain, AT ALL the plugs are useless. Does my daughter care about these things? Absolutely not. But it's good to point out for parents.

      Comments about Step2 Gather & Grille Playhouse™:

After looking at a variety of these products I selected this one because of its open design which makes it easier to keep an eye on the kids inside. This product is very easy to put together. Grandparents got it done in no time. Kid loves it! Recommend it highly. Only thing that seems flimsy is the stickers you put on the product.

      Comments about Step2 Gather & Grille Playhouse™:

I bought the playhouse for my daughter for her 2nd birthday. She loves it! She loves pretending to cook food on the stove and pretending to clean her house. I put it inside the house in what used to be the dining area. It is big enough for 2 grown adults and a small child, although not super-comfortable for adults. The bbq cover was broken, but she probably would have broken it at some point anyway. Its so cute when she says,"Playhouse time. Welcome to my playhouse mama!"

      Comments about Step2 Gather & Grille Playhouse™:

Our kids love this playhouse! The BBQ & the bench are a great addition that our 2 1/2 year old loves - the only con is that when friends are over whose kids are not used to playing in it they constantly trip over the lips at the door & side opening. Our old step 2 playhouse was much smaller & had a plastic floor - with this house there is no floor - which is ok but then maybe there should be no lip.

Erin Harbinson asked: Does anyone know an approximate time on putting this house together? It's a Santa gift (for inside the playroom) and was wondering if it can be completed on Christmas Eve late? Nov 5, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Christoph Z: I would say one needs about an hour to assemble. It is not at all difficult but the pieces are pretty big naturally and it's a lot for 1 person to maneuver. Your problem may be that you really need a power drill, which might be too loud for Christmas Eve sneakiness. The screws actually make the hole in the plastic and are quite long. Good luck, this is a great set we have used for a couple years now. In the winter we take it apart and reassemble in the basement with no trouble at all. Nov 7, 2013

Megan W: Hi Erin. We bought this as a gift for our twins. My husband put it together the night before their birthday. He is VERY handy but had it assembled alone in less than two hours with no trouble. He said its fairly simple and should be no problem for Christmas Eve as long as you set aside a few hours. Our kids have been enjoying it so much for a year and a half. Enjoy and happy holidays! Nov 7, 2013
Reply to Megan Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Kathryn W: Yes, I think so. Except for an electric screwdriver it shouldn't be too noisy either. We put ours together one afternoon last year while our then 2 year old played outside and I don't remember it taking "hours"! Nov 7, 2013
Reply to Kathryn Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Rosemarie A: I think so! My husband is pretty handy with tools but I am not, together it took us about 30 minutes. Good luck & happy holidays! Nov 7, 2013

JESSICA R: Hour- hr and a half depending on how handy and if you have someone to help. Easiest if you have 2 people and a screwgun! Nov 7, 2013

John M: Sure. I put it together in about and hour using a cordless drill. Nov 7, 2013

Wesley N: About half an hour minus the stickers. It's very easy.

Natasha L asked: We are considering this for my almost 3 year old son's birthday. Is it tall enough inside to last him a few years? We would hate to spend the money on it to only get one season out of it. Apr 27, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jerilyn G: My son is 4 and a half years old now and he still fits inside it and he's 43 inches tall. I suspect this will be his last year in it because he already has to duck his head to get through the door and both adults can't fit when he wants us inside play with him. It's a great outdoor toy however I don't think it lasts most families more than two or three years depending on how tall their child gets and how fast Apr 29, 2014

Rosemarie A: Yes! We bought it for my daughters 3rd birthday & now she is almost 5 & still LOVES it! She is petite but has at least another 2 years to play in it - her little bro is 2 & 1/2 & it is definitely his favorite place to play too! Plus it made it thru two summers (& we leave it out all snowy winter long) & it still looks great! Apr 29, 2014
Reply to Rosemarie Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
Cathy N: He should easily be able to stand up in it for a few years. My 8 year old nephew and 10 year old daughter can both fit inside. (It's not that roomy for them, but they can play inside with my 1 and 3 year old kids.) Apr 29, 2014

Wesley N: Yes, unless your son is unusually tall for his age, he should get a few years out of it. Apr 29, 2014

MaryAnn O: Bought this for my granddaughter when she was 2yrs old. Because of the time of year they put it in the bonus room. She is now three, it is outside and she should be able to use it for a few more years. The only problem is when the pretend play they want an adult to come in the house. That is not easy! I thought it was really cute and just like grill etc her parents have. May 3, 2014
