My 2 boys, ages 2 1/2 and 4 1/2, LOVE the Grand Walk In Kitchen with Grill. It is much larger then our previous kitchen but after re-arranging the toy room it fits perfectly. The kids love to cook pizza, grill hot dogs & serve me coffee throughout the day. There is plently of room for mulitiple children, and is great for when we have friends over.

I bought this to have an extra kitchen, we have the market as well.
The kitchen is good size, 2 small kids can play in the main part but it's tight.
I bought this one versus the other because of the BBQ as an extra activity area.
I assembled it myself and took roughly 2 hours with interruption. Directions were clear. I suggest using a electric screw driver as I did makes the job faster.

It's disappointing because it comes with a ton of food and plates and such an no where to really store them. There are 2 baskets but that does not fit all the food. The condiments it comes with are cute but there is now where to store them. Step2 cut corners to save money and should of made the storage area under the burner larger to store taller items.
The microwave makes no noise and neither does the fridge. The only noise makers are the stove and the BBQ and that's very disappointing because that's what kids like.

My girls (ages 4 & 2 1/2) LOVE to play with this set at home in our livingroom. They can play together or play individually. They pretend to cook, clean, shop, serve food, and love to talk on the phone!
This is a high quality product that they can play with for years to come. It has so many ways for a child to interact with it. As my wife and I were putting it together, our girls kept trying to play with it before we could even finish putting it all together. We finally just let them play that first night and put the stickers on after they were in bed! LOL!
      I have NO complaints whatsoever...

      Comments about Step2 Grand Walk-In Kitchen & Grill™:

We looked for large kitchens for a while before deciding on this one. With an almost-6-year old, 4yo, 2yo, (all boys) and another one on the way, we wanted something that served multiple children at once and wasn't flimsy at all. We like that this is a pretty neutral design, all the hinges and construction seem very durable. It's probably not something you can easily assemble in one room and move to another through a standard door, so note that before putting it together! A few screws were in locations that were very difficult to access, and the fact that the holes are only indented, not pre-drilled, meant we needed a power drill to do most of the screws. Really my only negative is that it seems kitchen ads use kids that look older but are super tiny. I expected it to be bigger based on images of kids in the kitchen (didn't really pay that close of attention to measurements), but it seems to fit our kids okay. It's a tight fit to put two kids inside at once, but there are a lot of play options to occupy multiple kids.

The Grand Walk-in Kitchen was a Christmas gift for our 2 year old granddaughter and it was a big hit. She spends hours cooking on the stove and grill, and she loves all of the accessories. I love all the built-in storage so she can neatly put all of the food and dishes away at the end of the day. I spent a lot of time searching and reviewing the features of several kitchens but am so pleased to have purchased this one by step2!

I choose this kitchen because of storage, and because of the grill. I like how it is more like a play house than just an ordinary kitchen set. I know my daughter will love it!
          Sarah B on Mar 10, 2015
I bought this kitchen for my 14 month old daughter. She is mobile and active. Currently, she is enjoying getting in and out of her Little Tikes car. She likes closing and opening the car door. She puts together her megablocks (10 pieces) together. She put them in and take them out. I thought she would enjoy the kitchen which allows her to open and close doors, organizing the food pieces. Hopefully, she will grow into it and pretend play when she is a little older.

Birthday gift for my 2 yr. old Granddaughter. Have bought several Step 2 items and they are always well built.
          sandra z on Feb 10, 2015
I chose this because my wife and I have noticed our girls, ages 2 1/2 & 4, have been "playing house" more and more. They especially have been playing with toy food and pretending to cook on play-tables. We decided to get them something they would both love to play with both now and as they continue to grow. We are so excited and just know they are going to love it!!!
          Joshua L on Feb 5, 2015
That's the best gift we gave to our daughter. She was only 1 year old, and she plays with it everyday! Now that she is 3 1/2 we had to buy it again for the new home!
          for my littel baby!
          sangwook l on Jan 29, 2015
I chose this particular one because you can play on the inside and the outside at the grill area. This is for a child development center so there will be lots of children playing with this at the same time. Also, it came with food and dishes. Thanks

My son (3 yrs) has been asking for a kitchen for about 6 months now since he has one in his school classroom this year. Often times, he has 3-4 friends over so I wanted to get something that could occupy all of them if needed. He also has a younger brother (1 yr) to learn to share with. This kitchen seems to be large enough and has all the features we were looking for in a play kitchen including the grill! Big plus for us guys. That along with great reviews is why I chose to go with this set.

Can you buy a "replacement" keypad for the microwave so that it has electronic features like the walk-in kitchen without the grill?
          Wendi on Jul 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: You can purchase these through our Customer Service Department. Please call toll free 1-800-347-8372 Monday - Friday, from 8-5 ET and we will be happy to assist you with this request.
Can it be disassembled for moving?
          anita c on Dec 24, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Maybe. You could unscrew all of the screws; however, that might make it not as strong when you re-assemble it.
is there a new version of this kitchen in production? i saw it go on sale for 149.99 (stated original price 199.99), but it was sold out quick, and then it came back w/ a sale price of $181.99 (original price $259)...seemingly the same kitchen. confused at the pricing...i want the best deal. seems like a great kitchen.
          A shopper on Dec 18, 2013
BEST ANSWER: There are two versions of the Grand Walk-In Kitchen - the original and the version with grill. This version has the grill, which is why it is priced a little higher.
Is there a coffee pot/maker in this?
          beth j on Nov 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No but you can buy it separately. I think it makes bubbling noise too. Great kitchen, just food/ other stuff ALL over the house as kids never keep it in the kitchen.
Does the microwave on this version have electronics (like the version w/o the grill)? Also is the floor a padded floor (like the version w/o the grill)?
          cynthia on Mar 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No, the microwave just has a sticker where the buttons should be. I was highly disappointed. It does have the padded floor though. But my daughter plays with this kitchen more than any of her other toys and she just turned 6. We've had it for 2 years now and it is very durable.
Does this particular model come with a stool?
          A shopper on Nov 18, 2013
BEST ANSWER: No it has no stool!!!!! My wife and I bought this kitchen for our two year old and she absolutely loves it!!!!!! Every morning when she wakes up she can hardly wait to play with it!!!!!
Would you recommend for a 5 and 9 year old girl?
          Diana G on Nov 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It's hard to say for sure. The 5 yr old yes but the 9 yr old could go either way. The 9 yr old would probably have to play on her knees. I know my 11 year old nephew will play with the kitchen with my son, but I don't think he would play by himself with it. A girl may be a little different? Sorry not sure if this helps
          Hi,
I purchased this item and there was a thick white very sticky film all over it. What is this?
          A shopper on Jul 11, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for contacting us about this film on your kitchen. There are times when resin dust will settle onto the product and it requires the product to be wiped down with hot soapy water. The resin dust isn't typically sticky though, but with humidity, that is possible. Could you please take a picture of this, try to wash it down with hot soapy water (if it is resin it will easily wipe clean), and if that doesn't work, please contact us directly through our Customer Service Department. Please call toll free 1-800-347-8372 Monday - Friday, from 8-5 ET and we will be happy to assist you from there.
Would have been a little easier to setup if the long bars across the bottom that hold it together had holes at each end for the clips to go through. Had 4 holes in total (2 at one end of each bar) and none at the other. Fortunately the wife brought it out to the shop and I had a drill there, but NOT easy to assemble for her!
Could you do that for future builds and maybe a pilot hole for where all the screws have to be put in?
          Jethro on Nov 11, 2013

This is a random question and I'm hoping someone might have an idea. How difficult would it be to replace one of the kitchen walls of the kitchen & grill with another model (the Deluxe, for example) to get the extra features combined with the walk-in kitchen? Are the walls, "ceiling" and floor all separate pieces? We are fine with cutting and drilling our own holes.

BEST ANSWER: This is an interesting idea! The kitchen & grill has separate walls, ceiling, and floor pieces. The ceiling cross pieces can easily be removed to facilitate use of a new wall, or depending on your floor plan you could remove the extra counter space on one side and add a third wall there.
What are the true dimensions of the kitchen assembled? It appears that many sites have assembled dimensions that differ from Step 2's site.

BEST ANSWER: We recommend this product for indoor use only based on its electronic features and floor board that would not hold up in tough weather conditions.
We are potty training and had an accident in the kitchen. Would it have soaked through the floor mat to necessitate a new one? or if we disinfected it on the top and bottom are we good? The other thing about the floor mat is that it doesn't hold up well from cat claws and it easily rips and tears. Please advise. Thanks
