I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old. I wanted to get a kitchen that they could have fun with now, but also grow into. I love the fact that there would be room for both of them and that you could add things like a cash register to turn it into a store. So far I have been very pleased with the product. My husband was able to put it together without any issues and the kids love it. This is the second Step 2 product that we have and I would highly recommend the brand- very well built, durable and comes in gender neutral colors
Cons:
-Could be more food storage space or compartments in the cupboards- we are using a play grocery cart for now and that is working just fine.
-The "oak" flooring is not attached- this makes it a little more difficult to move when vacuuming, but not a huge deal.
-I purchased the kitchen with an additional 101 piece food set- the box came with two bags of food items (50 pieces per bag, I assume), but one of the bags is exactly what came with the kitchen so I have a ton of duplicates. While this isnt a huge deal, I would have prefered to buy it seperately and gotten different items if I knew in advance
My only real concern is that my 2 1/2 year old daughter has started climbing on the bar/counter (open underneath), grabbing the arch above and throwing her weight back. So far everything has been stable, but I am a little worried that if she continues this and gains weight it may tip over on her (though I think it is light enough I doubt she will get hurt). Obviously I am trying to discourage this behavior, but I know she continues to do it every time I turn my back... keep an eye on your little monkeys!

I had been looking at this for over a year debating if to buy it or not. I have a small daycare with 5 little kids. I finally gave in. It was much smaller than I expected. Had I read the specs I would have known that so I don't fault the company. The free shiping was awesome! My husband put it together fairly easy. I don't like the metal spoon racks, they keep falling off. I have to move it frequently to vacumn, the floor has to be reinstalled when I do this. The food that comes with it is really small and I probably threw over half of it out as I felt they were hazardous. I expected much better quality. I have purchased Step2 products before for the kids and this just doesn't fit the bill. The little kids can crawl in it and pull themselves up. No more than one 3 year old can work in it at a time. Not enough storage space, the pots and pans do not fit in the space under the cooktop! While we love the buttons on the cooktop burner sounds, the kids have figured out that it how to turn the sound on without a pan being on it and I worry they will do that with a regular burner.

Comments about Step2 Grand Walk In Kitchen with Extra Play Food:
It is very creative skill for my daughter to play n learn, especially the sound n number she learn as she use them. She love the items that come with the kichen is different from the rest , she had learn them as she cook. And the counter with stool are very useful. It so much more than just a kitchen... she would use them for her snack time, she want to take order thru the counter like restaurant, n play marketplace. Overall, we love the kitchen , had no problem. The only reason why I give it 4 star because the mat could been more durable especially for children, they rough on them.

I bought this for my 20 month old granddaughter who lives with us. It arrived in the morning before she was awake. I was babysitting my great nephew that day. He "helped" my husband put it together. The last part was barely together, and he was stirring French fries on the stove. THe two kids played all day with it, and spend a good part of the day playing in it every day. My granddaughter loves to make me sit on the little stool so she can cook me breakfast. I felt it paid for itself the first day just watching them have a great time!
