      Comments about Step2 Handy Helper's Workbench™:

I bought this for my 3 year old nephew for Christmas. He really liked it and played with it a lot that morning. His favorite was the drill that really runs! My only issue was when we put it together, the holes where the screws were supposed to go were not drilled out very well. You had to force them in. Other than that, it went together fine. Good fun from this workbench.

        Comments about Step2 Handy Helper's Workbench™:

Putting the workbench together was much easier then I expected, in fact I was able to do it WITH OUT my husband which was great! The workbench comes with all the pieces you need along with the decals. Total time for construction was about 15 minutes!I did need to use a power drill for the last few screws. They connect the grey top to the bottom half of the workbench. Other then that it was really easy to put together! The Drill does require 2 AA batteries that are not included so make sure you have those as well. When my kids woke up to find the Handy Helper's Workbench in the living room they were ecstatic!! Both my boy and girl have had a blast playing and creating with the tools. I was surprised at how well my daughter picked up using the drill with the screws and getting them to screw into the workbench. My son LOVES the drill and has been using it on everything he sees. The workbench is the perfect size for young kids and is sturdy enough to stay in place when being banged and drilled on. The pretend vice does a great job of holding the foam wood pieces and I like that all the tools are the right size for little hands. If I could change one thing, it would be the foam wood pieces. Both my kids have a hard time getting the screws to go in and especially getting them out of the pre-punched holes. Also, I feel that the foam may not last very long. Another thing I would change would be the accessory tray that comes with the workbench. I'd much rather a drawer since I would feel it would be less likely to get lost. Other then that it's great and the kids love it1

            Comments about Step2 Handy Helper's Workbench™:

We really like the Handy Helper's Workbench! It is very compact, so it would easily fit in small spaces like bedrooms or apartments. It has tons of fun features like bolts, tools, a working vice, and realistic "wooden" pieces for building. There are also pre-drilled holes on the work surface that kids can screw the bolts into. We love the fact that the drill works, making for an authentic building experience. (It does require 2 AA batteries, which are not included.) There is also ample storage, since tools can be hung from the pegboard and there is a bottom storage area with a bin for bolts, etc. The reason I gave this 4 stars rather than 5 is because we also own the Real Projects Workbench, which includes a lot more accessories. Still, this is a wonderful product and I would definitely recommend it, especially if you've got limited space. My kids have a lot of fun building just like Daddy! Thank you, Step2 for allowing me to review this product as a Test Drive Blogger!

Chose this for my grandson who will be three in February. Pretend play is so important in developing the minds of young children. This workbench offers a variety of options for pretend play. Loved Step2 products for my daughters and will continue for my grandchildren!!! Strong and durable for years of fun! Thank You Step2!

Is it suitable for keeping outdoors? We would cover in winter but does the sun weather it a lot?
            A shopper on Mar 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The workbench I ordered for my grandson has been on a covered porch but not left outside. It does get exposed to some elements and it looks pretty good. I would not leave tools such as the drill outside as whatever "powers" it might corrode. FYI: that drill is noisy! My daughter hides it once in awhile for peace and quiet!
