This kitchen is absolutely adorable! We love it. We set up Christmas Eve, with a big red bow, for our 2 1/2 yr. old daughter to wake up to on Christmas morning. She saw it, and we couldn't get her out of it, to even open her other presents. She loves the little burner that boils and sizzles, that's her favorite part. She sits on the little stool in front of the stove, and "cooks." It is so cute! Assembly was extremely easy, as the instructions were great. All the accessories are wonderful, tons of food, pans and dishes. There are only a few things I was disappointed with; there were a couple of big scratches on the countertops, it's like somebody with a box cutter must have cut them before boxing them up. I read other reviews where people mentioned this, but I was hoping I would luck out. But they aren't that noticeable, as the counters are maroonish. There should be more storage space under the stove, like there is above the fridge. The kitchen looks bigger in the Step 2 picture, then it really is, but it is still big enough. And for the price of the kitchen, I think it should be a bit heavier. The plastic isn't as thick as I thought it would be. But maybe it was made that way, so it could be moved around more easily. All in all, it is really great, and I do most definitely recommend it, but for younger children, probably 3 to 5, as the counters are not that tall, they are about perfect height for my daughter who is almost 37" tall. She can sit on the stool, or stand, and play comfortably. Not for older children, it would just be too small. I'm adding a picture of Lily in her kitchen, so you can compare the size for your own child.

I really like this kitchen (as does my 1-yr old daughter), but similar to other users' comments the assembly was not as represented...I had no problem following the directions but at least a dozen holes needed to be drilled, despite the fact that the instructions indicated holes should have already been there. (There were indentations where the holes SHOULD have been but apparently they were missed in production.) Fortunately I had someone who could drill them for me but, if not, what would someone do? Re-package and ship back 2 huge boxes?? I was very frustrated that based on other user comments[...] it seems this has been a problem for quite a while, but Step2 hasn't done anything to remedy the issue.

Very well-built and entertaining. Lots of drawers, cabinets and appliances to pretend cooking. A huge assortment of foods. Great for younger and older children to play together. Has noises that engage the children but are not so loud that they would drive parents or grandparents crazy. Customer Service is amazing. My kitchen was damaged in shipping and they immediately replaced all the parts and decals without any hassle!!!

I was really surprised at how fast the shipping was. It was delivered a week before I thought it would be here! It came in two big boxes and I thought it would be a hassle to put it all together. But it was really easy to follow the directions and place together. My sons are absolutely in love with their new kitchen! They love the fact it makes noises, comes with different sorts of cooking utensils, food, and pots & pans.

I have the Deluxe Kitchen at my house. My 17 month old identical twin granddaughters love playing with it. I thought they would enjoy having one at their house, so I purchased them the walk in kitchen. My son-in-law put it together and it is their favorite toy to play with. There is room for both of them to enjoy and will be around for years to come. Step 2 is built very well, I have had mine for over 10 years and it's still in great shape.

We bought this for our 2 year old as a birthday present and she loves it! It keeps her busy and she has a great time playing with it. Her 6 year old sister loves it as well!
Shipping was fast and it came with a great assortment of pots, pans, and food. There was only 2 plates and 2 cups in the 100 piece assortment, but that did not bother us. It took my husband less than an hour to assemble and the kitchen is solid!

Heather K: There are 6 screws you can undo to disassemble this. Basically two screws per top arch, and two screws for the counter. These three pieces are what connect the two sides. It's not too hard. Apr 4, 2013

Christina H: While the kitchen is very sturdy and durable, I would not recommend that it be used outside. There are several stickers as well as multiple things that make sound (battery operated). I think that moisture, extreme heat and/or cold could damage these areas. Dec 6, 2013

kim d: It could be - I live in South Dakota so we put it inside. Everything is made with the same materials that the outside playhouses are made of so if you lived in the south I think it could be used outside. Dec 6, 2013

Casey H: I bought this kitchen set for my son for his 2nd birthday. He is four now and doesn't play with it much anymore, but my 19 month daughter loves it. The burner makes a frying pan noise and lights up when you set a pan on it. There is a phone that has buttons that makes noise, and the microwave has buttons that make noise. The noises aren't that loud, and I don't find them annoying at all. Mar 28, 2013

Kenny T: Yes, the burners will either make a frying or boiling noise depending on if you use a pot or pan but it will stop after approx 10 seconds. Other parts of the kitchen that make noise are the microwave and cordless phone. Nothing too annoying I find, but that's me. Have had many fun moments playing with my daughter. Mar 28, 2013

Zoe M: I bought this product for my 1 year old twin grandchildren. They will be three in June and still love this kitchen. They are tall but not 4 years old so I cannot be sure if her height will be an issue. I do think children, girls & boys enjoy play kitchens long after 4 years old.
Your English is wonderful. I would be very proud of myself if I could express myself in a second language as well as you have.

Amy M: I would go with another kitchen if I were you. I bought my daughter this kitchen for her 2nd birthday. She is now 2 1/2 and is 37inches tall and is about to outgrow the kitchen. I can only see her getting another year out of it before we have to pass it down to her younger cousins. It is a cute kitchen and she loves it but she is already having to lean down some to use the counter tops Jun 24, 2013

Hami A asked: Does the kitchen set has oven and dish washer? or just microwave, refrigerator and stove? Also how is it compare to step2 deluxe kitchen? could anybody tell... Nov 21, 2013

Karla H: There is a sink but not a "dishwasher" I checked online to look at the deluxe kitchen and it doesn't have a dishwasher either. Both have pretty much the same things except I like the Grand Kitchen better because it is like a little "room" due to the way you walk into it and it is sort of self contained. I have a big box of all the kitchen stuff that I put into the walking space when they aren't playing in it and no mess seen. The deluxe kitchen is all laid out so if you have a wall to put it up against that's great. I'd be compelled to tidy up the kitchen more though because it becomes part of the room decor. That's just me though. They are both nice. It was a hard decision for me between the two but I'm glad I picked the Grand Walk-In. :-) It has a little counter for "diners" to sit at and receive their "food" and It's fun to lay a blanket over the top and they play like its a fort. All my kids play in it. 2 boys and a little girl who it was purchased for. Good luck to you! Nov 22, 2013

Maxwell H: You can remove the arches. Simply remove the four screws that secure them in place and they pop out, or do not install them. The kitchen is stable either way. Our triplet girls are 3.5 y/o now and that's a good idea to remove them, thank you!

Zoe M: Yes, my daughter-in-law moves kitchen from indoor play area to outside and to children's bedroom. I bought this as a 1st b-day gift - best gift ever. Twins turning three in June and little one year old brother play in it daily. May 7, 2013

Cathy M: No, it's indoor for us. If it was used outdoors, I would think that the stickers would come off with the weather. If you don't mind that, the plastic is durable for indoor/outdoor use. May 6, 2013

Holly A: The mat on the bottom that acts as the "floor" as the kitchen (it looks like faux wood) is a foam one therefore I don't think it would hold up outside unless you took it out or it was under an awning. There are two sidebars that hold the floor mat in and that would be a tripping hazard if it was placed on grass. Also there are mechanical noises and such so I don't think rain would be a good idea. Dahlia A: I purchased this kitchen for my daughter who is approx 37 inches. She is 4 in one month but on the smaller side. She LOVES this kitchen. However, the top is actually open so the child would only have to hunch when entering & exiting. My friends older children enjoy playing w/ this kitchen as well. Some hunch, some kneel. I see this kitchen as long lasting. Apr 1, 2013

MARIA M: We did not have any missing screw holes. All the plates and accessories fit well into cabinets, drawers and on display. Some of the food did not fit but we made a fruit basket to sit on the counter to make it all look neat at clean up time. Jul 28, 2013

Amanda C: Yes, ours had missing screw holes. I think because it's just plastic and didn't take much force. As far as plates, they fit in the upper cupboard, but the lower cabinet would not close all the way with pans in it. Jul 29, 2013
