I'll start off by noting that the age range for this place set is up to 8 yrs old which I find hard to believe. My son is 3 and I don't see us using this for more than another year. It's way too small. He's 41" tall and he can't even use the underneath playhouse. I feel like Step 2 hired extroadinarily small children to take pictures for their ad because this playground seemed huge based on what I saw online. I don't feel like it was worth the money at all. The area where the swings are is pretty small as well. The quality of the ropes that hang the swings isn't very good and the hardware is already rusty. The ropes aren't long enough and I have to help my son get onto the swings because they're too high off the ground. I think the only good thing about this swingset is that it will have a high resale value, other than that I would not purchase this again.
Comments about Step2 Naturally Playful® Playhouse Climber & Swing Extension:
i bought this swingset for my first granddaughter who is now 11 and her sister who is 8 years younger is enjoying it as much as the older one did. I was so happy with this swingset that I ordered it for my youngest Granddaughter who totally loves playing on it for hrs at a time.

A shopper asked:Hi, I received this slide and climber from a friend, but it did not come with the swing extension. Can I purchase this add on separately? ThanksApr 21, 2013
Step2Staff:You can purchase this separately through our Customer Service Department. Please call toll free 1-800-347-8372 Monday - Friday, from 8-5 ET and we will be happy to assist you with this request. Please note, the shipping price of this extension is pretty expensive. A shopper asked:How bad does the sun fade the naturally playhouse climber slide swingset? is there anything i can put on it to help that problem? Besides full shade which i do not have. does watering the yard or rain do damage to it? looking for long time owner to tell me about fading, how it weathers the seasons, wear n tear etc. Thank youJun 9, 2013
Megan P:We have owned our playset for almost two years now and it has held up really well. No real fading from the sun. It is in direct sunlight and we live in the desert. Ours is hit by the sprinklers and has some white spots due to hard water stains. So it just depends on what kind of water you have. The only problem we have with it not being in the shade is the slide gets VERY hot! It is best to run some water on it for a few minutes to cool it down in the summer before the kiddos slide down. Otherwise this is a great product and I would highly recommend it. Awesome for little kids.Jun 10, 2013
Laurie C:Our set is in partial shade. It has not faded at all. We live on Cape Cod, MA which is a very humid area and the set is not at all moldy or discolored. The only negative I would foresee for you is that the slide might get hot to the touch. Wetting it down or sliding on a towel would help. Our almost 3 year old granddaughter has loved this set for over the year we've had it. I highly recommend it!Jun 10, 2013
Robert F:We've had it for one year and it does not look faded. It gets full sun everyday, all day and sits out in the rain/snow as well. One of the dogs also likes to mark his territory and that hasn't caused a real problem either. Can't say for sure it's exactly the same as day one, but it still looks nice. Not like some of those bleached little tikes playsets I've seen around.Jun 10, 2013
Sunshine D:I have had it in our back yard for 2 years. It has been through Texas heat - 100+ temperatures. I do not notice any fading. It is easy to clean and rain does not affect it either. I am confident this will last until my daughter is 8 (she got it for her first birthday and plays on it all the time). I am pleased with this purchase. Hope this helps.Jun 10, 2013
Justin F:I've had this playset for about a year and a half. It's in partial shade and looks exactly the way it did when we put it up. We've had tons of rain etc and it gets hit by the sprinkler often.....looks great. Even the swings look good as new and this playset gets lots of use.Jun 10, 2013
Jim W asked:Where can I get the The Swing Extension Instruction sheet? I don't see it online. We received this from someone who's son out grew it and I'm trying to set it up but I think I may have missing parts.Apr 10, 2013
Jim W:That is for the fort/house/slide part. On page 12 it states "If adding the Swing Extension stop here and refer to The Swing Extension Instruction sheet." That part is not included on your site or the link you just sent.Apr 18, 2013

Anna C asked:I bought this from a friend. The swing next to the tower is too close, and bumps into the tower as the child swings. I wonder if the wrong end of the swing pole is inserted into the tower frame. Is there a "right or wrong" way to insert the swing extension pole into the tower frame? Or is it because I have the whole set on unlevel ground? It definitely is not level.Jun 6, 2013
A shopper asked:We have seen a basketball backboard on the adventure lodge play center and wonder if it is available for the playful playhouse climber and swing set extension that we have? Could that be a part that we could order and would it even fit the set that we own? Looking to add more for a five yr old to play with. ThanksMay 10, 2013
Christi L:I think this is a question for Step 2 directly. I am not sure why it was sent to me. I have this play system but don't know anything about a basketball backboard. My boys are 2 and 1. Sorry I can't help. May 13, 2013
Step2Staff:The frame on these two products are slightly different so the basketball hoop that is available for the Adventure Lodge with Glider would not work on this swing set.Jun 6, 2013
Mark F asked:Hi I'm getting this climber and swing set from a friend. Is there any disassembly instructions or videos that could help me take it down myself? I'm sure it would be easier if I had assembled it once before which I have not. ThanksMay 9, 2013
Aimee B:My suggestion would be to remove the bar but leave the sleeve part on the tower (hope that makes sense) since the bar slides into the sleeve. Then you would have to remove the slide which you just need to lift it up (you will think you are breaking it but your not)and snap it out. I think the slide is the most difficult part to remove and install because it has to snap in so it will take some man power to do it. Good luck. You could also try to see if youtube has any videos. :)May 10, 2013
Laurie C:This set does not have anything to attach a canopy. We have it placed in partial shade so this was not an issue for us. Our granddaughter who was almost 2 when we got it loves it even now that she's almost 3. Maybe you need a different set?Apr 22, 2013
Linda G:If you are talking about a canopy for over the platform to the slide, there really isn't room. We don't have a problem at all with it being open. Our grandson really loves his slide and swings-perfect size for him - a 4 yr old.Apr 22, 2013
Dustin W:I don't think there is anywhere to mount a canopy.. If there was one...only short kids could play on the top. Not much height if covered with roof...but the little play house underneath is cute and covered.Apr 22, 2013
Crystal G asked:I would like to prepare the ground by removing the grass and adding rubber playground mulch prior to installation of this play set. Could anyone tell me what the dimensions of the prepared space should be?May 26, 2013
Rita R asked:What does the pool look like that hooks to the slide? I didn't see a picture of it but a person selling hers says there is one.May 11, 2013
