We bought this swing set for our daughter's 2nd birthday. She absolutely loves it. We put a baby swing in place of one of the swings for our 6 month old. This is a great set that they will enjoy for many years to come. My husband put it together all by himself in less that an hour.

I'll start off by noting that the age range for this place set is up to 8 yrs old which I find hard to believe. My son is 3 and I don't see us using this for more than another year. It's way too small. He's 41" tall and he can't even use the underneath playhouse. I feel like Step 2 hired extroadinarily small children to take pictures for their ad because this playground seemed huge based on what I saw online. I don't feel like it was worth the money at all. The area where the swings are is pretty small as well. The quality of the ropes that hang the swings isn't very good and the hardware is already rusty. The ropes aren't long enough and I have to help my son get onto the swings because they're too high off the ground. I think the only good thing about this swingset is that it will have a high resale value, other than that I would not purchase this again.

LOVE this swing set I bought it 15yrs ago for my youngest son who is now turning 18y/o. It has been moved 5 times I have loaned it to friends who had grandchildren and then when my grand daughter was born took it to my older son's home and yesterday moved it back to mine. My son and his family are home again and we are expecting a new granddaughter next month and I'm sure she will enjoy it as much as her 5y/o sister has. We have replaced the swing ropes a few times and added the pool for the slide and of course the baby swing but it has all been worth the investment.

work with preschoolers...had a set that was donated to the school after the original owners had it for 8 years, it still has life in it and the kids really enjoy it...That is why I purchased it for my grandchild...don't see any child over 5 being interested in it for long...great for little ones 2-4...I would strongly recommend it BUT it's only 1 month old and most of my praise is for the one at the school

We were lucky enough to buy this second hand and it looks like brand new for half the price. This works well for my special needs son who is 38.5" tall. He can go up the ladder with minimal assistance and the slide is the perfect length. He prefers to swing only for now but I can tell this thing is sturdy and well made so it should survive our intense summer heat quite well. Should last for years to come. Nice set.

A shopper asked: How bad does the sun fade the naturally playhouse climber slide swingset? is there anything i can put on it to help that problem? Besides full shade which i do not have. does watering the yard or rain do damage to it? looking for long time owner to tell me about fading, how it weathers the seasons, wear n tear etc. Thank you Jun 9, 2013

Megan P: We have owned our playset for almost two years now and it has held up really well. No real fading from the sun. It is in direct sunlight and we live in the desert. Ours is hit by the sprinklers and has some white spots due to hard water stains. So it just depends on what kind of water you have. The only problem we have with it not being in the shade is the slide gets VERY hot! It is best to run some water on it for a few minutes to cool it down in the summer before the kiddos slide down. Otherwise this is a great product and I would highly recommend it. Awesome for little kids. Jun 10, 2013

Laurie C: Our set is in partial shade. It has not faded at all. We live on Cape Cod, MA which is a very humid area and the set is not at all moldy or discolored. The only negative I would foresee for you is that the slide might get hot to the touch. Wetting it down or sliding on a towel would help. Our almost 3 year old granddaughter has loved this set for over the year we've had it. I highly recommend it! Jun 10, 2013

Robert F: We've had it for one year and it does not look faded. It gets full sun everyday, all day and sits out in the rain/snow as well. One of the dogs also likes to mark his territory and that hasn't caused a real problem either. Can't say for sure it's exactly the same as day one, but it still looks nice. Not like some of those bleached little tikes playsets I've seen around. Jun 10, 2013

Sunshine D: I have had it in our back yard for 2 years. It has been through Texas heat - 100+ temperatures. I do not notice any fading. It is easy to clean and rain does not affect it either. I am confident this will last until my daughter is 8 (she got it for her first birthday and plays on it all the time). I am pleased with this purchase. Hope this helps. Jun 10, 2013

Long time owner: We just sold our 8 year old set at a garage sale and the new owners had asked if we had stored it inside because it did not look faded at all. It has been outside for 8 years in full sun and it still looks great. High quality material indeed! We got great use out of it for our 3 kids. Sep 16, 2013

Justin F: I've had this playset for about a year and a half. It's in partial shade and looks exactly the way it did when we put it up. We've had tons of rain etc and it gets hit by the sprinkler often.....looks great. Even the swings look good as new and this playset gets lots of use. Jun 10, 2013

Vanessa V: Was delivered to us via freight delivery. Packaged in huge boxes, so can't be delivered via standard shipping. However, if you purchased at a store, I believe you could take the pieces out of the boxes and they would fit (stacked up) in your van. The walls and the stairs are separate pieces that you put together to assemble, so they are not that tall/long until after assembly. The longest/tallest piece unassembled is the slide - which out of the box would fit in a van. The shipping boxes would not fit in a van. Apr 15, 2014

Christi L: I can't remember the dimensions of the boxes since we ordered it a year and a half ago but if you search for it on the Home Depot site, there are specifications with dimensions listed. You'll need to look at the longest dimension to see if it would fit in your van. I remember it was only available for shipping (not pickup) and it came in 3 or 4 HUGE and heavy boxes about 80lbs each. I hope this helps! Apr 14, 2014

Angela B: Yes they are awesome!! my daycare loves it even my 11 yr old climbs around on it. its nice knowing i dont have to worry about wood rot anymore either!!1 your kids will surely love it, the swings are well enough for older kids if they like to swing, it takes a while to assemble it needs 2 people for sure my 15 yr old and me put it together takes some elbow greese lol soooooooo worth the money 8)and dont worry they arent very small at all. you can even put a pool at the bottom with bottom part of slide in pool they love sliding into a kiddie pool from this swingset slide! katie p: Definitely too small for a 7 yr old. My petite 3 1/2 yr old has to bend over when standing in the playhouse part and the slide is very narrow. A 7 yr olds feet would not be high enough off the ground to enjoy swinging either. I would recommend this playset for your 4 yr old but your 7 yr old would probably not enjoy using it! Jul 15, 2013

Maintain a minimum distance of 6.5 feet (2 m) from structures or obstructions (examples: a fence, buildings, garages, houses, low hanging branches, tree stumps/roots, large rocks, bricks, concrete, laundry lines, or electrical wires). I wonder if the wrong end of the swing pole is inserted into the tower frame. Is there a "right or wrong" way to insert the swing extension pole into the tower frame?
Or is it because I have the whole set on unlevel ground? It definitely is not level.

A shopper asked: We have seen a basketball backboard on the adventure lodge play center and wonder if it is available for the playful playhouse climber and swing set extension that we have? Could that be a part that we could order and would it even fit the set that we own? Looking to add more for a five yr old to play with. Thanks May 10, 2013

Christi L: I think this is a question for Step 2 directly. I am not sure why it was sent to me. I have this play system but don't know anything about a basketball backboard. My boys are 2 and 1. Sorry I can't help. May 13, 2013

Step2Staff: The frame on these two products are slightly different so the basketball hoop that is available for the Adventure Lodge with Glider would not work on this swing set. Jun 6, 2013

Mark F asked: Hi I'm getting this climber and swing set from a friend. Is there any disassembly instructions or videos that could help me take it down myself? I'm sure it would be easier if I had assembled it once before which I have not. Thanks May 9, 2013

Step2Staff: The best way to disassemble this swing set (or any of our kids toys) is to follow the instructions backward. Attached is a link to our assembly instructions for this Playhouse Climber & Swing Extension. http://images.step2.com/media/pdfs/709300_info.pd There is also a product assembly video that you can watch that may be helpful. http://www.showuhow.com/Home/Pre_sale_widget/Pre_sale_widgetStep2/tabid/10421/language/en-US/Default.aspx May 10, 2013

Aimee B: My suggestion would be to remove the bar but leave the sleeve part on the tower (hope that makes sense) since the bar slides into the sleeve. Then you would have to remove the slide which you just need to lift it up (you will think you are breaking it but your not)and snap it out. I think the slide is the most difficult part to remove and install because it has to snap in so it will take some man power to do it. Good luck. You could also try to see if youtube has any videos. :) May 10, 2013

Laurie C: This set does not have anything to attach a canopy. We have it placed in partial shade so this was not an issue for us. Our granddaughter who was almost 2 when we got it loves it even now that she's almost 3. Maybe you need a different set? Apr 22, 2013

Linda G: If you are talking about a canopy for over the platform to the slide, there really isn't room. We don't have a problem at all with it being open. Our grandson really loves his slide and swings-perfect size for him - a 4 yr old. Apr 22, 2013
