Depending on your needs, the Step2 Panda Climber is a cute little slide and climbing set for kids ages 1 - 3.Past that, they will usually be masters of the giant jungle gyms at local play grounds or the sky-high Skyward Summit.

We received the Panda Climber as a gift and I like how easy it was for my husband to assemble. He did have to use a power drill to "finish" the holes to get the screws in. And the plastic is easy to wipe down to clean off dust, dirt and the occasional snack-spill. The size is small enough for a small patio and it can even fit indoors in a play room. When my son was younger he had a slide/ball pit combo in his bedroom which ROCKED. So this would be a cute addition to a large bedroom or play room.

It has many open areas for children to climb to the step and from there go down the slide. The platform is ridged, decreasing any opportunities for accidental slips.

Currently my boys play with it like any boy would - climbing and chasing each other. It's also good for racing cars down the slide. It can hold up to 100 pounds, so both of my boys can sit on the platform at the same time, although that rarely happens as they are always on the move.

          Comments about Step2 Panda Climber:

We bought this for our 13 month old grandson to keep him busy when they viist. My husband is handy with a drill which helped with assembly. Not all the holes were pre-drilled. Other than that, it took just under and hour to assemble...start to finish.
Our grandson loved it! Because he is not yet stable on his feet, we stayed right next to him when he was on the platform. He loved pushing his stuffed animals down the slide before he took his turn!
The Panda Climber is the perfect size for our family room. Because we have hardwood floors, we bought a form mat to put under the climber...just in case. I would recommend this quality Step 2 product to anyone with toddlers.

            Comments about Step2 Panda Climber:

I am overall very satisfied with this. It was shipped on a Thursday and I received it the next day on Friday. I didn't have any issues with assembling this on my own. The only thing I could see other people having trouble with is that there are no holes for the screws to go through so you have to manually make the screw holes. I have built and assembled a lot of things in the past so this was very easy for me even as a woman. My 1 year old daughter loves this so much she couldn't wait to investigate this. We live in an apartment and this panda climber is in our living room. Its small enough that it doesn't take up a lot of room but big enough for my daughter to play on and slide. She plays everyday on this item. This was going to be a Christmas gift but I'm so glad I gave it to her early she has so much fun on it. She also likes to stand on the platform and look out our sliding glass doors. Its great for active children who are at the climbing and exploring stage. This is the perfect climber with slide I have found. Very happy all around.

A shopper asked: Can it be dragged from the grass outside to the garage when done playing?? Oct 28, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jennifer Y: Yes, it's very lightweight and can move easily. It is wide though. Dragging it into a garage wouldn't be a problem, but if you were going to bring it in and out of the house, it would require maneuvering to get it out of a standard doorway. Oct 29, 2014

A shopper asked: I notice the description says "wide protruding stairs that lead up to a large platform". However I don't see any stairs in any of the pics. All I see is what I would call a ladder on the side. I'd does not appear to be "protruding". Can anyone please clarify? Jun 22, 2014

cynthia h: There are no stairs on this climber. There are indentations on one side of the climber for little feet and on the other side is oval holes that their little feet can step in. I love this size appropriate climber and purchased it in part because of the yellow bar on the back to help prevent my grandson from accidentally falling off backwards. Sturdy, easy to clean, and still use daily. Hope this helps. Jun 25, 2014

Michelin A: You are correct, our 2.5 yo climbs up the side through the opening to get to the slide. The backside is the widest part of the climber and the child can either crawl under the green platform or over the platform to access the slide. Hope this helps you:) Jun 23, 2014

Gail J: Hi Marcie, our panda climber is used by 3 year olds and they are not able to push it around at all. In fact when I vacuum and move it, it is quite bulky. Not all that easy to move. I guess you could put sand it in, although it doesnt come with sand holes youd have to put them in and fill it. Jun 21, 2014

MARY F: I have a small 2 year old and it is perfect forher.I have a 5 year old grandson that has one too and he plays fort with it....this may not answer your question directly but it is a great toy that evolves with age. Jun 12, 2014

Shawn B: the top of the slide or platform is 16" high. I have this inside in my daycare. This comes to the thigh of the 4 year old at my day & butt of the 3 year old. They also use it as a fort with blankets. Jun 12, 2014

Jill C: It is very short. My kids are short and while the almost 3 year old likes the size it is way too small for the just turned 5 year old. This one seemed size wise to match 18 mon to 3 years. Jun 12, 2014

Mercedes B: It's about 18in from the ground to the top of the slide. I'd say it's the perfect size for 1-3 year olds but it won't last a 4 year old very long. Jun 12, 2014

A shopper asked: Can the Panda climber be taken apart and put back together easily? I would like to be able to take it apart and move it indoors or outdoors. Lynn R: I wish I could assist with the answer to your question, we assembled Panda Climber in our living area and have not moved it because my 2 year old granddaughter plays on it daily. She loves it and its just the right size. I appreciate the fact there is railing completely around the platform. However, now that it is Spring and warmer weather, I have decided to move it to our screened porch area. This will involve taking apart the climber (hopefully just the slide) in order to move it through doorway. I'm hoping it will be an easy task. I will try to submit an updated review. I can say it was easy to assemble and we've been very happy with the purchase. Love Step 2 products. May 3, 2013
