My Grandson, London (2 1/2 yrs.) just loves his workshop. He loves putting things together and then taking them apart. Grandma & Grandpa purchased the workshop for Easter...much better than giving a lot of candy. My daughter said that she loves the shelf on the bottom to store all of the pieces. It is realistic and a great learning tool. Boys just love to tinker no matter what the age. My daughter would recommend it for any child 2 and up.

Overall, we were pleased with the realistic nature of the bench & wooden pieces and the overall quality of the items. Although the "wooden" pieces have many blueprints of projects for toddlers to make, the bench itself is quite small in height for our 3 & almost 5 year-old sons. The bench doesn't have ample storage for all of the "wooden" pieces which I dislike. I would like to see a bigger bench for toddler-aged children. There isn't one out there-this is the closest we found. Finally, the drill that came with the set didn't work when we opened it Christmas day, so our sons had to wait for a replacement drill to play with their present.

Comments about Step2 Real Projects Workshop:

This was a last minute Easter gift for my youngest child (18m). Shipment was so fast, we were shocked that it arrived in time for the holiday. Workshop was quick to assemble, the kids were playing with it almost immediately. I love the fact that it is a space saver, and has a built-in drawer and open shelf for the storage of its own pieces. Although its recommended for 3+, our youngest has no problem interlocking the wood pieces and using the tools. The older kids are able to build the intricate shapes using the blueprints, and they have a lot of fun making them. Glad we decided on this last minute gift. Thank you Step2 for your outstanding customer service!

My just turned two year old grandson LOVES this toy. Even though he can't really put the pieces together yet, he loves working the drill and the screws in the top on the bench. It's the perfect size for him too. He will be able to use this toy for a long time as his skills imporve.

Absolutely perfect gift for my 4 year old son. If your child has an imagination and enjoys tools, this is the perfect gift. I was concerned that my son wouldn't like the 'play tools' vs. his father's real tools, but it's a hit!

Comments about Step2 Real Projects Workshop:

The Real Projects Workshop was easy to assemble and just the right size for our two year old grandson. His four year old sister was fascinated with the tools and soon joined him in play.

If space is an issue, the Real Projects Workshop is a doable size for a small apartment or a spacious home. The tools are light enough for little hands and realistic enough for older kids. The drill is quite impressive with both forward and reverse turning.

The nuts and bolts screw in easily enough and the Durafoam project pieces are safe and imaginative.

If I was going to make a suggestion, it would be to include some "nails" made especially for the hammer.

Once again, we are pleased with Step 2 products.
