Power of Friendship

thoughtfulthursdaypoweroffriendship

Best friends are always there to pick you up when you are feeling down. When six-year-old Zac Gossage was diagnosed with leukemia, his best friend Vincent Butterfield was right by his side to make him feel better. During the holidays, Vincent sold scarves and raised $200 to give to Zac’s family. But Vincent didn’t only raise money for his best friend; he also shaved his head so Zac wouldn’t be the only one without hair!

The power of Zac and Vincent’s friendship is incredible and proves that they would do anything to help one another out. Both boys are learning important lessons from this experience – Zac is learning what it means to have a selfless best friend, while Vincent is beginning to understand what it means to have a fighting spirit as Zac battles cancer. Zac is still undergoing chemotherapy but he still goes to school and sees his best friend all the time.

This Thoughtful Thursday we commend both Zac and Vincent for having each others’ backs. We are wishing Zac a speedy recovery and sending positive thoughts to him, his family and his friends.
