The Handyman Workbench by Step2 is a workshop designed to develop fine motor skills in children. It includes durable tools and a highly praised drill, though the tools are not usable on real materials. Made in the USA with both domestic and imported parts.

"Very easy to put together and just as described! Best purchase made in 2024!"
"Very entertaining for our 3-year-old and 2-year-old."
"Assembly was fairly straight forward. Use a power driver instead of a hand driver. For the most part it’s ok but I think 4 years of age is tops. The top drawer under the bench is garbage. If you pull it out more than a third of the way it along with everything in the drawer falls out. I would not recommend this for kids over 4."
"The Handyman Tool Bench was our Christmas gift for our three year old grandson. He was so excited! It was so awesome that it came with tools. . . so he “helped” with assembly! Definitely recommend for busy, helper boys!"
"I wasn’t expecting all 3 of my boys (ages ranging 1-7) to all enjoy this product, but all 3 of them have enjoyed playing with it. To make it easier to build, I recommend using a drill. It came in several pieces, but only took about 30 minutes to put together. I comes with several fun tools (you will need batteries) and a fun “fake wood” truck to build that actually rolls—my 7 year old thought that was awesome! I also appreciate that even though it is a play set, it doesn’t take up a lot of space. I’ve been avoiding large play sets because of spacing constraints, but this one will fit easily in our living room where the boys can easily play with it for hours. It also has nice storage bins for all of the play tools and screws, etc. that come with it so they will not end up lost. I would highly recommend this toy for all kids ages 1-10!"
"Purchased for our 2-1/2 year old grandson, as suggested by his parents. He absolutely loves it! It was a fairly easy assembly as well. Very happy with the purchase."
"My 3 year old grandson loves his “ grown up” work bench! It was very easy to put together. I love the storage bins we can use to organize the tools. The peg board is also realistic and easy to use for storage. I’m very pleased with this work bench. It made my grand baby feel handy like his Papa. very nice toy for a toddler"
"My five year old has been begging for a workbench for a long time, so when I came across the Handyman Workbench, I knew we had to have it! It took my husband about thirty minutes to assemble, and he barely had time to move out of the way before my five and three year old boys immediately began to play with it. You will need AA and AAA batteries for the light and the drill, so make sure you have those on hand. I love how durable the workbench is, and my children loved playing with all of the different tools and building different things from the foam "wooden" pieces. Even my older children came over to test it out and play after they saw how much fun their brothers were having. Having all of your children play together, use their imaginations, and do an activity not involving screen time? Yes, please! I love how this workbench allows fits all of those criteria, and it kept my children occupied for hours over the last few days. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. It is well-built, fairly easy to assemble, and it will keep your kids busy and stimulate their imaginations. It's definitely a great purchase."
"So this workbench is currently loved by my boys. They love all the toys that come with it. They aren’t sure about the foam “wood” pieces but have found other uses for them. The clamp was the only piece that I had trouble putting on. The screws are weirdly placed and are difficult to make sure they are in correctly. Overall everything else was easy to put together."
"The bench itself is nice. I love the amount of storage and the size because it isn't taking over my whole room. My daughter enjoyed playing with it a lot when she first got it but within a few days her interest had faded. She really likes the working drill and light but you can't use the tools on anything! There are holes where you can put the screws but they just slide right in, you can't actually drill them in. You can put the bolts onto the screws but that's about it. The foam car is a nice touch but I'd rather have something you could put together - maybe a really simple car where you could drill the wheels on. And it doesn't come with much so the extra storage really just goes to waste. I even looked to see if you could buy something extra to go with the bench but I didn't see anything. I'm sure my daughter (3) and son (8 months) will use it a lot more in the future but so far, not much excitement for it. Thank you Step2 for letting me test this item as part of the Step2 Toy Tester Program!!"
