"I got this to add some height to decorations on my front porch, but am probably also going to use it for Halloween candy! The planter portion is very deep, and the only set up required is to drill some holes in the base for drainage. It's very sturdy with good heft without any sand in the base. It is solidly brown so it won't show visible scratches. It should fit a very nice sized plant (once I'm done using it for Halloween!). Another great Step2 product!"
"I really like this planter. It is well designed and easy to move to try it out in some different areas and it can be used inside or outside. I like that you can fill the bottom with water to make it self watering or you can drill drainage holes in the bottom if you are not going the self watering route. I would recommend filling the bottom with sand or rocks if you are not filling it with water to prevent it from being blown over. There is a tray that fits in just under the top so you don't have to fill the entire thing with soil which is really smart. If I decide to use it by my front door, I will order a second one."
