Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Good Buy The mailbox arrived quickly in excellent condition. I already had a Step 2 mailbox (cracked at the bottom) attached to a post, so I didn't have to do any digging, thank heavens. I had my dad put the mailbox together (taking the old one off was actually the hard part - I didn't have the right tool to remove the square-headed screws) but it didn't take too long. The only hiccup was when we realized that there wasn't any room to drill the top part of the mailbox together since my mailbox is too close to my neighbor's mailbox. Oops. We should have attached the top part first. Let that be a lesson to you, kids!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy installation - now enjoying new mailbox! I shopped around for one that would make the job easier for me to replace our old mailbox. This one allowed me to use my existing post (4x4) with the original length of about 36” already sticking up, above the ground. Other mailbox kits wanted 24” above ground and I didn’t want to do any cutting; nor have to dig out the existing one either. Very happy customer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mailbox This is a very nice mailbox it's well built heavy duty but it's not heavy I mean it's not hard to handle. It comes in separate pieces that made it easier to put on the post. It came with all of the hardware you need. I wouldn't recommend doing this but this mailbox feels like you could hit it with a baseball bat and not hurt it. For me the hardest part was digging the whole. This is a very nice mailbox and I would recommend this mailbox to anybody.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mailbox is fine. Screws are too cheap Mailbox is as good as you would expect. The four screws that attach the top of the mailbox to the base are too cheap and strip out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mailbox! Exceeded expectations because of the low price, we thought it might be cheap plastic. Our 1st step 2 mailbox lasted over 20 years and this new one is just as good quality. Love the sleek look!

I recently put up a step 2 mail box and was wondering if there was any suggestions of which decal/numbers work best on the plastic material. I see a lot of very nice self adhesive products out there but I am unsure if they will stick well or not.

Asked by: Tim00
My situation may differ from yours in that my mail box sits on a busy highway, so there is lots of weather and traffic. I printed my name and number in large bold print and taped it to the inside of the front door. I see the different numbers my neighbors have used all peeling off eventually. Hope this helps.

Hi, will a 2 foot post above ground be strong enough, or being that it allows for 3 feet above ground, 3 feet would give it additional support?

Asked by: mark
I used 3 feet above ground and am extremely satisfied with this product.

I have an existing post that measures 3 3/16 square, can that be used or will I have to put in a 4 x 4?

Asked by: rlirwin1138
A post that measures 3 3/16 square would be too small for the MailMaster® Express Plus Mailbox™.

I have a Mailmaster plus now, want to replace with the Mailmaster Express, will it fit the same on my 4x4 post?

Asked by: Tammy
I don't see why it wouldn't fit on the existing post as the mailbox post is the same height.

How do you set to height of 41” when it’s only 39” bottom to base of box?

Asked by: SlaterC
With the base post inside of it.  Get a pressure treated post.

My 4x4 post is only 2 ft. out of the ground will this be enough to support new mailbox

Asked by: domenic
The top hole is right at 24” from the end of the post sleeve. I also think it will be much sturdier with a longer post. It may not stand up to a good blast from a snow plow with the shorter post. I really do like the box it looks much nicer than other boxes on my street.
