Customer ReviewsRated 4 out of 5 by Mother of 2 under age 2 from Good buy for a lil guy!!! Brought this for 15mth son for xmas2010 cuz i delivered our our 2nd child in november. So instead of buying another crib we brought him a bed we felt would grow with him. He is almost two now and climbing in and out with ease. We started with the crib mattress so he could get use to it but now he has a twin in it. I do wish we could use a box spring underneath instead of boards. I also feel the unstable steps used to seperate the boards underneath the twin bed would be more useful as sturdy steps to help lil ones climb in the bed. Overall it was a good purchase b/c it was easy to put together, sturdy, and made with good durable material.Date published: 2011-07-17Rated 5 out of 5 by Grandma Kate from Awesome - A Real Hit I was surprised at how few pieces there were to this bed and how easy it was to put together. The hardest part of the job was keeping my grandson off of it while it was assembled. We bought the complete set and couldn't be happier. All the pieces are sturdy and very nice to look at. The additonial dresser and toy chest came almost completely assembled so the room was operational in just a few hours. The bed is bigger then I had expected but when it is all made up looks quite nice. My grandson (3) has spent 2 days in his room playing and laying around on his new bed and is delighted with it. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.Date published: 2008-08-29Rated 5 out of 5 by Caidensmom from What more could a family want? This bed is great. It grows with your child which allows you to get the most bang for your buck. With the cars theme I see my 22 month old son enjoying his bed for at least the next 4-5 years if not more. It was incredibly easy to assemble an[...] After my son climbed out of is crib for the first time I wanted a bed that was safe, comfortable, functional, and one that would last. It's great. My son loves the racetrack at the end and its easy for him to get in and out of without using a step stool. I love that I dont need to buy a whole new bed when he is alittle older. Definatly worth the money and the joy on my sons face, priceless!Date published: 2007-10-30Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Excellent transition bed! The crib that I bought for my son was suppose to "grow with him". When it came time to switch it to a toddler bed there were no supports and he kept falling out. After a few nights of sleeping on his floor to see how he did (and catching him before he hit the ground) I decided he needed a larger bed that would not let him fall. We got the bed, set it up with the toddler size mattress and he loves it! It is impossible for him to roll off while he is sleeping, and it is big enough for me to lay with him at bedtime to read books! I figure he will have this bed for many years so spending the money should be worth it. I can sleep at night knowing he won't fall out and get hurt.Date published: 2010-10-29Rated 5 out of 5 by SNP from Exactly as pictured If you plan on using it for a child that may need side support once the twin mattress is placed, you might want to get a bedrail. My son just turned 3yrs and did fine. I started him with the crib mattress which left gaps on the side and thought it would be a problem but was he was just fine. I ordered a twin mattress a week later just because I thought it would be more comfortable with a new mattress. The mattress we got was a good quality pillowtop but keep in mind that the rails on the side are not high enough for side-support a child that may need it. Mine again did not need it.Date published: 2007-09-17Rated 4 out of 5 by Vue2282 from Great bed I got this bed 4 years ago for my oldest son when he was 1 and he loved it.I love the fact that it is all plastic so if he had an accdent or spilled something on it I can take it apart and hose it off. I just order replacment sticker for it as I was hoping to pass it down to my youngest boy but my son is not ready to give it up so I guess we will just buy another one. The only thing that I would change would be to have Bunnki boards instead of the plywood just because we had to trow it way after my son spilled milk on it. The nice thing is that you do not need to have it if you are using a twin size mattress just move the plastic part with the race track to the middle of the bed and it will support a twin size matress just fine.Date published: 2010-03-10Rated 3 out of 5 by Busy mommy of two from Uncommon twin mattress height needed. Got this when my son was three. He loves it. The stickers look great and he's added more so it's more his bed. We used it with a toddler mattress. We did have issues with the gaps on the sides of the crib mattress. We used rolled blankets or stuffed animals to fill in the sides. Another downside is that now that he's moving to the twin size mattress, I can't find one with the required height of only 7". All of the innerspring mattresses I've looked at are eleven or twelve. The mattress companies I've spoke with said they don't even make them that thin. It should say that it requires a bunk bed mattress. That or redesign it to fit common mattress heights. If I had known the 7" height req, I would have gone with something else.Date published: 2011-07-03Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great bed! Great price! I bought this bed over 2 years ago. I have not had any problems with it yet. I am seriously considering buying another one for my younger son when is just comming out of a crib bed. My oldest son is 5 and he IS definatly hard on beds. IE: He has broke our bed 2x from jumping on it! He does the same with his and there are still no problems with it! It really is a great bed for the price and I would reccommend it to any one! Furthermore being Military we move a lot. The set-up and tear down IS simple and one less headache when moving.Date published: 2009-02-21
