"Looks great and seems solid, but the instructions to utilize self-watering feature are completely inadequate. Also, cmon the holes should be drilled with a screw-in removable plug. I have read the diretions and scoured the internet, and I still have no way of knowing how to set up the self watering feature."

- I bought this and the directions are vague. What is the giant removable plug in the inside bottom of the planter for? It leads into the water reservoir. Are we supposed to remove this? What is its purpose?
- Thank you for reaching out! It sounds like you’re referring to the large tannish/beige plug with number and letters on it located inside the bottom of your planter. That piece is actually the manufacturing vent and date plug, and it should not be removed. This plug is a standard part of the roto-molding process used to create our planters. During manufacturing, vent holes are needed to release hot air, and once the process is complete, these are sealed with a vent plug. Each plug includes unique manufacturing information and helps maintain the structural integrity of the product.
