The Step2 Naturally Playful Sand Table is praised for its perfect height and ease of use, though opinions on the cover and water resistance vary. The lid is easy to handle, but some customers had issues with the legs and the cover's effectiveness.

"Excellent way to provide small children with a "sandbox" experience without them sitting in the box and getting full of sand."
"I love the sand table's quality."
"I love this sand table. It is durable and keeps my daughter much cleaner than a traditional sandbox. Although other reviews complained that the legs were hard to put into place, I found installation very fast and easy. After applying a small amount of pressure legs just snapped into place. I love how the lid on this sand table has straps to keep it in place."
"It it impossible to get the legs to slot it due to excess plastic in holes. After fighting with trying to get the legs in after 20 minutes, decided to file down the excess plastic and was finally able to get the legs in. Do not recommend unless you look forward to brute forcing the legs in or removing the extra plastic from the mold."
"Absolutely love it! The height is perfect for our toddler"
"I managed to assemble one of these successfully about 10 years ago. I sold it when I moved. I just bought a new one. The legs won't go into the table holes. I followed the advice on Step2's website -- tried vegetable oil, tried heating with a hair dryer. Also tried dish soap. Also applied considerable pressure, as the website recommends. End result: the leg neck that is supposed to go through the hole in the table, instead is collapsing into the leg body. Step2 support suggested that I use sandpaper to remove excess plastic inside the table holes. Instead, I'm leaving this one-star review."
"Terrible sand table design. The lid doesn't do anything to keep water out at all. I purchased this for my son and after the first rain we had the sand is completely soaked and the table is holding a significant amount of water."
"Okay, looks great, if only the legs could go in. Far, far, far too difficult. One of the leg holes is simply not cut right, so the leg won't go in. The shop seller said it'd be difficult, so clearly a know problem with this product. Whatever you do, don't try to assemble in front of your kid, they get very upset when it can't be put together."
"All put together, the legs were hard to get in place. All done. Large enough for excavator, Tow truck etc. Came with some build a castle items & shovels. Lid is easy to put on & off. Stays on."
"Perfect if you just want a basic sand box. Great height and comes with great play tools. A 50lb bag of play sand fits perfectly. Assembly super easy, just popping the legs in."
